I have showers on May 9,16,27 and June 3. May 9 is one thrown by my church and all of the ladies of the church will be invited. On May 16 I will be having a Homemade Gourmet shower, on May 27 I will be having a couple's Garden shower, and on June 3 I will be having a lingerie party. I know who will be invited to the church shower, but how do I know who to invite to the others? I have heard it is custom to invite your attendents to all of your showers, but I have 12 and I don't want them to feel that they are expected to come to 4 showers much less have to bring something to each. Each of the people throwing the showers has told me just to get them a list of who to send out invites to, but I can't do that until I find out who to put on those lists. Please help, I didn't know showers could be such a technical thing, and I don't want to hurt someone's feeling by not inviting them, but I don't want them to become overwhelmed either.:bbconfused:

Well the church shower is pretty much a given as to who to invite to that one. For the home shower maybe invite some more traditional guests to that one like mom, grandma, family members, some of mom's closer friends, think a more traditional shower crowd for the more traditional shower like event. Then for the couples shower i would invite couples that you and your FH are close to. Of course the lingerie shower, maybe you close girlfriends. I don't think Great Aunt Martha would be to ocmfortable at that one.
As for your bridesmaids, part of their job is to be at all of your showers. Since you are having a lot of showers and a lot of bridesmaids I wouldn't expect them all to be able to make it to every party. But, they should be invited to them all. Just tell them that a gift isn't required for the showers. Being there is more than enough.

I think you can let them know when they are but they are not expected to be at all of them. I only know about one of my showers and i'm 99% positive that only one of my bridesmaids will be able to attend.
I think Lacey is right about who should be invited to which ones. My mom's friend is doing one for me that will be all their bridge group friends. And my cousins wife was talking about planning one which i imagine would be all my family. I don't know if my MOH is planning one so the other ones will include my friends i imagine.
