Apparently we have a sniper on the lose in downtown Pittsburgh. It is on the other side of town from where Sean works, so no worries. But the sucky part is that they aren't letting traffic through the tunnels into downtown so I am going to have a hell of a commute home! I think I am staying late to grade some papers here.

I don't know. I can't bring myself to turn on my tv in my classroom. I find that the local news around here actually makes you dumber. So I try to avoid it. I just want to go home without sitting in traffic forever.

Sean just called. The tunnels are reopened. So here is the deal. There was in a way a snipper. There was a guy on a rooftop with a pellet gun shooting at pigeons, not people, pigeons. One half of the city got shut down because of this. I only have this to say, that man deserves a medal. There is no creature on earth that I hate more than a pigeon. They are rude, filthy, stupid animals. I HATE PIGEONS. God bless this psycho out there doing my work!

Well I'm glad it wasn't a REAL sniper and you can actually get home at a decent time with out too much stress. And I know how you feel about the pigeons. I feel the same way when it comes to squirrels!
As a 911 dispatcher, there is one thing we hate. People who call 911 when they don't know all the details. Shut down half the town when if someone would have taken 2 seconds to look a little closer, they'd know what was going on.

Pigeons - While I hate them, I'm wondering what possessed that man to shoot them in the middle of a weekday afternoon? Why is it that everytime "The Burgh" is on the news, it's always something goofy?

It could be worse, it could be Morgantown, WV. The only time they get on the news is when the students set couches ablaze on porches.

I read the title of the post and thought "Snipper? Like, a pair of scisors?" Then I got it. Took me a moment!

Glad no one was hurt (aside from the birdies). I like pigeons though. They're kinda cute.. Then again, I used to watch LOTS of Anamaniacs..... ;)

I forgot all about the Wiseguy pigeons on Anamaniacs, ok so there are 3 cool pigeons in the world. The rest are all flying rats with wings. After living in two of the most pigeon invested places in the US, I have learned to hate pigeons.
