I decided i wanted fresh flowers for my boutiques
I found a great site that has fresh flowers for very cheap. You have to buy in bulk but they have like 250 for $215 (.86 a stem) and 45 medium calla lillies for $119 (2.15 a stem). Those prices are cheaper than the really good silk flowers. They even offer great wedding in a box packages. They offer free overnight shipping
The website is http://www.growersbox.com/

That is a great site! Below are some tips on how to handle your flowers when you get them. Typically, growers "dry pack" flowers when they ship them. This means that the flowers will be removed from water, packed in a box with newspaper and bags of ice to keep them cool during the shipping process. When you receive them, you will need to rehydrate them and let them get a good drink of water with preservative in it before you use them to make your arrangements and bouquets.
1) Fill buckets with warm water (not cold) mixed with floral preservative. Warm water contains less air than cold water and will travel up the stems faster to rehydrate your flowers better.
2) Strip the foliage on the flowers that will be below the waterline. Foliage in the water will cause bacteria to grow faster and will cause the flowers to die quicker.
3) Recut all of the stems at an angle before you place them into the fresh buckets of preservative water. Cutting stems at an angle assures that the flower stems will not adhere to the bottom of the bucket and keep from drawing water up the stems.
4) With roses, you might consider nipping off of all of the thorns with a knife or sissors to keep you and your bridesmaids from getting stuck with them in your bouquets.
5) Finally, let the flowers sit in the warm water buckets at room temperature for a minimum of 2-4 hours to make sure they are completely hydrated before using them.
Hope this helps!
