Just called today to confirm. What a relief now that we can finally give people a real date (we've been engaged 3 months and people just won't. stop. asking.) and we have a location we know isn't booked. Oh, and we've got the local mayor all set up to marry us.

So here I am, another August 1, 2009 bride (I saw on the timeline there are like 3 others). We're getting married at the lodge up on Tussey Mountain. It's simple but has a beautiful view back over our town and we get the whole thing to ourselves. All the decorating and such is up to us which I love because I hate "wedding packages." It's perfect! I have a place in my heart for this mountain anyway because last fall I ran on a relay team their 50-mile Tussey Mountainback (http://www.tusseymountainback.com/) race! <3

Ok, anyway...

Congratulations on setting the date! That's always the first question people ask us too, so I'm glad we had that set BEFORE we were engaged! :grinhappy:

Congrats! That must be quite a relief. I'm in the same situation you were in. I've been wanting to set up a tour for a couple weeks at a place we found but for one reason or another it hasn't worked out yet, :(. I know that feeling of just wanting to get the date set so you can tell people, and it's official.

Congratulations! I hear ya about the date. Whenever I told people "August 2009" with no set date two years ahead of time I got eyerolls. :sob:

Isn't it funny that is the first question people ask when you tell them you are engaged is, "Do you have a date set yet?"

A girl I work with got engaged the night before last and we saw her last night and she told us and everyone asked her that- and she rolled her eyes and said "We got engaged 24 hours ago!"

I remember EVERYONE asking me the same thing when my FH and I got engaged!
