Hello all, I am new...This being my first post.

We were thinking of a unique favor idea, and this is what we have come up with. When guests come to the cermony they will have their photo taken. (with their guest, or family shot)

During the cermony we are going to have character artists doing characters of the photos taken.....They will be on their place settings by the time they come to the reception..

What do you all think?

I thought about doing caricatures as favors too but you have to think about how many guests you're going to have. I'm having a little more than 150 guests, and an artist can do about 10-15 drawings an hour (depending on experience and usually is black and white to make it faster). I wanted to get the drawings done in about 1 to 2 hours which meant i needed about 7 artists... yeah it ended up being mad expensive. Plus if you're taking pics of the guests before the ceremony keep in mind that some people either come late or don't make it to the reception, so those folks wouldn't get favors. Just some stuff to keep in mind... but great idea!

i think as long as your guest list isn't huge and you can afford it, it's a great idea. i had never heard of it before but i love it. even if you can't get them on the table by the time of the reception they would still be a great keepsake, something different rather than soemthing that will get thrown away.

Very cute idea! I wanted to have a caricaturist at the reception as well because FH & I got a caricature done on the day he proposed to me. Unfortunately there is just no room in my budget. :sob:

That's a very cute idea! I'm sure your guests would love it! I wish I had a budget for something like that, too. My guest list is too big.

That is very unique. I haven't heard of that being done at a wedding before.

What about a photo of each guest with the Bride and Groom?

Some family members seem to appear in only the traditional family shot. Use a digitial camera. Upload the pics to a laptop and print from there.

Instant memory.

Plus if you do two sets, one for yourself and one for the guest. That way you have a complete memory of everyone who was there.

Sounds Good! Just make sure you have enough time in between the ceremony ending and the guets arriving to the reception site.
How much will this cost?

It does sound neat, but much more expensive then what I can afford to budget on favors :sweatdrop:
