Anyone check out these craft stores? They have a small wedding section, but I found it very useful. I got my tiara AND veil there for a combined total of $30.

I practically live at Joann's. I get their coupons and am there almost every weekend. Although, strangely, I've never bought anything in the wedding section, hehe.

I got the supplies for my card box, bathroom trays, and cocktail umbrellas this weekend.

Now after my wedding I actually work at michaels. I'm still not really crafty but I do like it. They have that Brides (as in Brides magazine) stuff now thats Really nice. If they had that b4 my wedding I totally would've bought some.

I like JoAnn and Michael's equally, for very different reasons. JoAnn is best for fabric and sewing, Michaels is best for things like making your own candles or rubber stamps or picture frames, etc. They're both (at least, around here) fairly equal when it comes to fake flowers. JoAnn often has fake fruit and stuff that's not typical, but Michael's has a better selection by far!

I spend a LOT of time in both stores when I'm working on a theatre show. I've never considered either of them for anything bridal, though. I know JoAnn's here has a lot of different tiaras and veil kits and so on, and some truly amazing bridal fabrics, but frankly, with a fabric outlet within a half-hour drive that imports fabric from Manhattan, Italy, Paris and Asia (at prices that are sinfully low), JoAnn kind of pales in comparison. I like JoAnn for patterns, though, they must have every single current pattern known to man!

I'll probably visit both stores to build my dress. We'll see.

I, personally like Michael's better. I just feel like they have a better selection of more crafty things.

I tend to go to Michael's because it's closer to my apartment, though for anything fabric-related I hit Joann's...since Michael's doesn't carry fabrics other than scraps of felt.

Sounds like two stores here in the UK.

The Range and Hobbycraft.

Both have great sections for DIY Wedding stuff. I can wander around The Range for hours if i manage to get a day off work. Last time i was there i bought a new Gazebo for the garden and with a few lights, some ribbon bows and flowers it going to look great for the wedding reception we are holding at our home.

The Range keeps me poor. And so does eBay lol.

I prefer Joann's, mostly because of their sales. Since we have a Joann's etc., I find their selection better.

Michael's is an awesome store and the coupons are a great incentive for shopping there. I have found a couple things for my wedding there...I could spend hours in that place!

I go to Jo-Anns more, just because the closest Michael's is like 45 minutes away. But I got my veil and tiara and Jo-Ann's, also. They were having a huge wedding clearance and I got them both for like $9.

Jo-Ann's and Michaels are about the only 2 crafts stores that we have in our tiny little town, so we've spent a lot of time there. I always cruise the clearance aisles to see if there's any decor that we could use for the wedding.

I know that it wasn't listed as an option, but I am a Hobby Lobby girl all the way! LOVE that place!

Hi! Just noticed we live in the same town and are getting married on the same day. Congratulations!

Here in Portland I go to both Michael's and Joann's but love Craft Warehouse (no wedding section) better for crafty stuff. Tomorrow I'm going to The Fabric Depot (122nd and Stark). I used to go there when I live closer but haven't gone yet for wedding stuff. A few people have told me about the veil selection they have there, so that's my mission.

From Michael's I bought our DIY invitaion kits, favor boxes, and cake topper with a 20% off purchase coupon. They actually have one of those coupons going right now. It comes on the bottom of your receipt. So what I'd do is buy something cheap to get the coupon and then you've got the coupon to use for a more expensive purchase. You get the coupon now and it is valid from June 15-21.

Have fun!
Mindy

I am from south Texas (way south next to border) and just became a new member. I realized that no one has mentioned the store Hobby Lobby. I don't know if maybe this store is not well known in other parts of the world. This store is great for wedding stuff. Although there is a small section there are always sales of up to 50 % off. There is a list of sales and also there are coupons online. These sales are weekly and are really helpful especially for the DIY Bride

Around here in NC, we have Michael's, Hobby Lobby, and AC Moore crafts. I've heard of Jo Anns, but don't know where one is around here. I appreciate all stores equally. Michaels and Hobby Lobby are the closest to my home, so I go out there more often than AC Moore. I like Hobby Lobby the best for wedding stuff.
