We're back from our honeymoon! Which, as it turns out was more of a sight-seeing trip than a honeymoon because we couldn't even hold hands...but that story is to come.

Thought I'd tell the wedding stories for anyone interested.

That morning was nuts - a storm was fast approaching and we had to pack 2 cars full of stuff in order to get everything there. My dog pooped in my bedroom floor. My brother's dog got in one of the cars and pooped in both of our front seats.

Yay!

On the way to the venue, the storm hit. And OH MY GOD what a storm. Tennis ball-sized hail. Straightline winds at 75mph. Rain like you wouldn't believe. It was so bad, we got caught on the highway and had to pull over and stop (everyone on the road did) for about 10 minutes before we could see 10 feet in front of us.

It eventually passed us (thank god for fast storms!), but there was so much rain that everything was flooded. We had to stop and turn around 5 times because roads were closed (and this is IN TOWN...not out in the boonies or anything), power lines were down all over the place (we saw one on fire!), and people's houses were pretty much floating. It was madness.

We FINALLY made it to find a venue without power and a leak in the ceremony room. Both of those things were fixed quickly, though...thank goodness!

The wedding was, for the most part, fantastic. A few things went wrong (table linens weren't delivered on time, things were lost in the shuffle, somehow part of the food was hidden and didn't get served), but I never once stressed...or even cared. I was having a blast. :grinhappy:

The ceremony was short - about 15 minutes - which I loved. We didn't want a yadda yadda ceremony. Jeremy got laughed by the whole crowd at because he was so nervous, he couldn't figure out how to "repeat after me". We got good video of that one. LOL I had to bite my lip to not cry when we were reading the poem/vows....a few times.

After they did the pronouncement, the DJ did a good job by starting to play the wedding march...then skipping it around...then going straight into "Sexyback". We both grabbed our huge sunglasses, posed a bit up front, then model walked down the aisle. People were ROLLING laughing. It was perfect!!!

Dinner went great - as much as I can remember it. My stomach was in such a ball of nerves that I couldn't eat (though I really did try!). Cupcakes...yeah, I forgot to have one. But they sure looked pretty!!! The mojitos were a huge hit, too! (We didn't end up naming them, though...just another thing that we ran out of time on.)

The DJ, though we loved him in the beginning, proved our point and tested our patience in showing that ALL WEDDING DJs SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hiring him was my biggest regret. He told me from the beginning, he'd play what songs I wanted him to, wouldn't play stupid stuff, etc. Keep in mind that he asked for a list of 50 "must play" songs. I gave him that and he approved it.

WRONG.

The very few songs that he DID play of mine were horrible remixes. He played my favorite dance song - Baby Got Back - and it took me about a minute to figure out what it was because it was so over-mixed....with something stupid that I can't remember.

People were even complaining about the DJ. That's sad. Needless to say, NO ONE DANCED. I hated that because that's my thing...I DANCE.

We did do our swing dance for our first song, which was FUN! We did a great job, honestly. I think our nerves kept us from screwing up. LOL

But anyway.

We got married, had lots of food, people LOVED the photobooth (as you can see from the pics!), and then we went home, gave each other foot massages, watched Scrubs, and ate leftovers from the buffet. :bblol: It was the best night ever (despite the DJ's obvious evil plan to ruin my evening).

More about the honeymoon later...

we couldn't even hold hands...but that story is to come.

I hate those "to be continued" stories! Why on earth couldn't you hold hands?!!!

Welcome back and welcome to the MRS. Club!

Ok. The honeymoon.

Well, California isn't always sunny, apparently. It never got above 70 the whole time we were there, and the first 2 days were cold and rainy. I rarely took off my sweat shirt, actually! (Thank goodness I even thought to bring one!)

Despite that, our resort (Loews Coronado) was absolutely delicious! We had a view of the harbor, which was always packed with boats. Just gorgeous. I got a ton of pictures (545, actually) that I'm working on editing and getting online right now...will share those soon.

The first day, we ordered breakfast room service, ate it and then went back to bed until 1pm. Nice! The next day was similar. When we were finally out of the room, we did a lot of sight-seeing. We saw the Hotel del Coronado (which has been in several movies...a big tourist attraction), went to the beach, saw La Jolla Cove (stunning!!!!), walked around Balboa Park, ate a ton of fresh seafood, and had a blast driving our rented hybrid Prius. :grinhappy:

The bad part of the whole trip was that Jeremy was covered in poison ivy the whole time! Most of our time was actually spent either scouting out medications, wrapping his arms, covering him with bandaids and gauze and tape, etc. It was (and still is) totally gross. :bblol:

He got it right before the wedding, helping his dad work in his yard, but it didn't start festering until we were on our trip. Go figure! He had blisters all over him (which felt like burns, he said) and it was even covering his hands...thus not being able to hold his hand. He can't even wear his ring it's so bad.

*le sigh*

I even spent one evening crying because we were both so miserable stuck in our hotel room. He said I get a do-over honeymoon, though, so that's a plus. LOL

The second place we stayed, the W in downtown San Diego, was freaking AWESOME. It has a rooftop beach and swimming pool, which was soooooo neat! I took tons of pictures - again, will show those when I get them onto the computer.

But that's that. We had a great time playing around the city, especially once the weather cooperated. And we saw some beautiful stuff. It just wasn't your typical dream honeymoon.

But I guess that's ok. We're not your typical couple.

Pictures soon! :grinhappy:

Oh my gosh! The poor guy! I hope that Jeremy is starting to feel better and not so itchy!

We were also on California for our honeymoon (On of the many places we vistied, San Diego), I have NO desire to go back. I just didn't care for that congestion there. I will have to post our "honeymoon funnies" on here to.

We went to the beach, (dog beach). It was just that I didn't care for that area, other parts of California I really like.

WB Mrs Tango!

Sorry your DJ was great and about the few little mishaps; but good for you for not letting it ruin your day!

Poor Jeremy, hope the poison ivy is better now; I was worried you guys had a fight or something on the honeymoon.

Sorry about the poison ivy. Hope he gets better soon. I lived in San Clemente for 4 years and loved going to San Diego. La Jolla is great isn't it? expensive but great. Did you get to see the art museum at Balboa Park? They have some of the most amazing paintings. Glad your back. Welcome to the Mrs club.

I agree, the traffic here is pretty horrendous, and so are some of the people (cough *coworkers* cough)

I am glad you had a good time. The poison ivy sounds bad but hopefully it will go away soon Congrats on the wedding!

"Yay" for the ups and "boo" for the downs! I so wish that I could have been there for the catwalk. It sounds like it was awesome! What is it with guys and the vows? Chad had a hart time with that part too. Darn, I thought that the DJ sounded like such a great deal. :snide: Sorry!

Poison ivy on the honeymoon. :bbeek: Wow, that's just bad luck right there. That's worse than my newlywed fling with the evil ivy!
