We went to Bora Bora! Its part of the Tahitian islands. And it was so relaxing. The whole island is so laid back...there is no night life...everything shuts down at 6pm when the sunsets. And it was so beautiful. The water is so blue and clear! We had so much fun...and we are ready to go back:grinhappy:

OMG we are thinking about Tahiti. That picture makes me want to go more now! If you don't mind me asking - was it super expensive?! How long did you guys go for??

We did ALOT of research before we booked our trip so we tried to find the best deals. And we kept hearing that Bora Bora was the most expensive place...and it CAN be. The trip (flights and hotel) was right around $4,500 for 7 days. Then we took $1,500 with us and didn't use it all. That might seem like a lot but that is great considering some people we talked to spent $40,000 for a week:bbeek:. Its also pretty expesive once you get down there. a lunch for two was about $50. So we would only eat out once a day then go to the market to get snack foods. But with all that said Tahiti is cheaper than Bora Bora. We have a travel guide, when I get home I will double check but hotels on Tahiti range from $75-300 a night.
But if you go to Tahitilegends.com, they are who we went through, They have a lot of information on all the different islands and put a package together for you. But I totaly reccomend going. Its AMAZING! They have all kinds of activities to do. We did a 4x4 tour of the island and a shark and ray feeding, where you swim with sharks and manta rays!
But if you have any more questions just let me know. We bought two travel books and DH has been to about every Tahiti website. So I can tell you what some different prices are for things like hotels, resturants and shops...so just let me know!:D

Thanks for all the info! Actually, that is what we were hoping to spend. We heard too that it was super expensive, but it really isn't for being in the middle of nowhere. I was reading online about the 4x4 tour and it sounded like a ton of fun! Those islands just look like ther perfect paradise. Its hard to believe a place like that exists!
We wouldn't be going until Spring 2010, but I still want to start looking into prices and the right hotels.

Your welcome! Yeah we didn't think it was that bad either. We compared it to a lot of other places and it was about the same...but its TAHITI...lol.
Thats what we did. we started researching everything a couple of years ago and booked it last June. But like I said let me know if you have any more questions.
