Do these colors work together? I'd like blue and purple to be the colors, and I may end up going with light blue bridesmaid dresses. I thought those colors looked good together but my mom didn't think they would match. I've actually found quite a few bouquets while looking at flowers online that were blue and puple that I thought looked nice.
Just wanted some other opinions.

A friend whose wedding I was in did these colors together and it looked beautiful. She called them "plum and baby blue." I will see if I can find some pictures to post.

If I were using blue, I would defiently go with a DEEP purple, plum sounds nice.
I think the colors would coordinate well.

I think I agree.. I was originally going for a royal purple color, but then I actually put two things together that were those colors (light blue and Vikings color purple) and they didn't go together. So I think plum would look really good.

The great things with blues is that you can have different shades and they almost always compliment the other shades. Since purple is very close to it, you can easily mix, but I wouldn't use like a pastel blue with a deep purple. That might look a bit off, unless you had a lighter lilac or lavender in there to soften the big change. I would say maybe a standard crushed grape purple with a royal blue.. or you can mix shades around and customize. Maybe have one bridesmaid in a certain shade of blue, and then have another in a different one... and continue to mix. You can even change the colors of bouquets they carry to help unify your color palette. For linens, stick with a basic one on your linens, and depending on the cost, see about getting 2 shades for your napkins and alternate them - but don't do odd numbers at your tables. With rounds of 8, 4 would have 1 shade and the other 4 would get the other... same with rounds of 10 except it would be 5 and 5.
Another thing you could do is to get an ivory table linen and then get sheer overlays - have some rounds draped in a sheer blue and the others in a sheer dark purple and have the purple ones with blue napkins and vice versa.
Throw in some silver chargers and that table will look amazing.

Yes! I love when there are a few different shades of blue since you can't get everything perfect.

i have saved a few pics with purple and blue in them and i think they look great together. Plus it's your wedding so even if no one else likes the combo it doesn't matter, just as long as you like it.

I had a friend recently get married and these were her colors. She called them blue & lilac....either way it was a beautiful wedding. Her BM & MOH wore the blue dresses, and carried lilac(?) flowers. they tied ribbons around the backs of the chairs blue on the grooms side, purple on the brides. It all turned out really pretty.

I really love this color combo of light blue and plum. I've been going back and forth on colors that can go with light blue (or 'Carolina Blue' as my fh insists on) and once I saw the pics with the flower colors blending, and decor, I fell in love with it. I know you guys were trying to help another member, but you also helped me. THANKS!!
