Last week we were away to attend DH's son's university graduation. After the grad was over, we drove DH's parents home. His Mom asked him to go through a drawer of his old "stuff" (dating back to 1978).

She wanted him to clean out the drawer, throw out what he didn't want and bring home what he did want and so he sat down to go through "memories" .....

He found trinkets from his class trip to Mexico in 1978, letters from his parents, letters from old girl friends and odds and sods .... and then found a small pile of old photographs. He was flipping through them when he stopped cold and slowly turned one photo around to show me ....

It was a photo of me! Awwwww he kept a photo of me all these years!

awww; don't you love that

I remember when DH and I first moved in together I was helping him go through some things; I found that he had kept ever card and letter I had given him. I also found an old calendar he kept and how he noted when he met me, our first date and our "first time" :grinhappy:

I find it incredibly heart warming - especially since we had both gone on to lead separate lives, after the high school grad. Guess he thought enough of me to keep it? Funny too ... I don't even remember the photo being taken.

I myself tossed all my old BF's letters etc. after I was married the first time.

Aw, that's so sweet! You guys should have it displayed somewhere if you have an anniversary party.
