Umm. I've never tried it before, but perhaps try melting the wax off. Or if it is little specks of it I guess you just have to scrape with your fingers. Other than that I don't know. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

They sell wax remover. I make candles (rather, back when I had extra time iI did) But what I aslways used was VERY hot soapy water in a bucket (you don't want wax in your drains, another story)Then polish the candle holder, also a blowdryer can be used to melt it off, but it could leave some residue. Good Luck!

If it is big blobs then you will have to pick it off. The reside can be removed by either soaking it in VERY hot tap water or if it isn't able to get wet, using a steamy hot cloth to wipe over it. If you are still having trouble, at Target or WalMart you can buy this stuff called Goo Gone that works really well. It is a yellowish green liquid in with the cleaning supplies.

Actually, getting wax off is easiest by putting the candle holder in the freezer. Leave it in there for about, of, two hours or so.. And then it pops right off. It's how I clean all of my stuff. Melting it just makes a mess. I saw this on Martha Stewart's show.

I also have learned that freezing it is the best way. I am a candle lover so I have had to remove wax from lots of things.

Hey Carrie, you stold my suggestion!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, if the candle is a bit scuffed, use an old pair of nylons and rub the candle all over. That shines the candle up, and gets rid of some of the marks.

Thanks guys, I ended up picking the wax off, broke a nail (not happy). I ended up making my own unity candle, well I actually decorated it my self. I bought a white pearlized pilar candle at Jo Ann fabrics in the wedding Asile, I glued rhinestones on it with clear tacky glue and it turned out nice... This weekend I will try to post a pic be honest let me know if u think it looks cheesy!!!

Glad you got it taken care of. I was gonna suggest the freezing thing and/or the hair dryer ... both have worked for me in the past.
I bet your DIY candle looks nice :D
