Makeup Artist?

I am looking for a makeup/hair artist that will travel to me however I don't want to be ripped off and I want a trial run first to see if I like it.

Typically, how much should this cost?

Do I also pay extra for the trial run?

Not sure about what's available in your area, but here...I've done a lot of research. The current one I am talking to is $75 for a trial, then $80 on the day of (or I can get a package for like $130 for the day of and for the engagement session). There's one really popular hair/make-up artist here that I almost went with that is $250 for the day of and $175 for a trial. She has a lot more experience and tends to work with higher-end clients. So, there's quite a bit of a range of a prices.

I would assume you'd pay for the trial, but maybe less that the real thing? I would assume you'd pay more if they have to come to you as well. But I have never personally done anything like this.
