Fireman'sgirl

We had our first premarital counseling session last night. The pastor is a friend of my dad's, and he is an older man, probably in his 60's. He's very nice, but slow-spoken. We spent most of the hour talking about our families, since both of our parents are divorced, and three of them are remarried. Almost at the end he asked us why we wanted to have a clergyman do our ceremony and FH broke down crying! :bbcry: He said he wanted to have someone bless our marriage, and then he just couldn't speak. He finally got out that he has wanted this (us getting married) for a long time. I have NEVER heard him so emotional, and this is only the second time since I've known him (13 years total) that I've seen him cry. Of course I started crying, and the minister had no idea what to say. I don't think he expected it, since we had made it through talking about our childhoods and parents' divorces with no tears actually shed (I think we both had tears starting though). This really made me see how happy he is about us getting married. :D
