FH is going to China June 15th

Ok I am not sure what to think about this one. I know its for work. I know this is an opportunity of a life time. But I cant help to be scared for him. Its a 14hr flight. He will be gone 3 weeks. Any longer and he will have to obtain a visa. His tickets cost over 2,500.00.. And I thought going to TX was $$$


The operation down there, they all speak English. Its a English speaking building. But what will he do outside of there? I mean.. one.. lol he HATES rice. Hates vegetables.. HA.( I love them) He says he will lose 20 lbs. lol

He leaves June 15th and wont be back until July 2nd. Anyone been to China? Any tips other than don't drink the water? He's all over Google. lol. I just want to help. I am trying to be supportive. He's worked hard to get where he is today. Its starting to pay off. But still.. CHINA!!! oh my gosh.. sigh.. this is stressing...

He's a big boy and he will be fine. And vegetables are good for him.
Maybe stop by a bookstore and pick up a book about traveling to China for him.

That is terribly exciting! Opportunity of a lifetime experiences can often be so scary though. I guess he'll be eating a lot of chinese noodle & meat dishes huh?! I find it appalling, but there are American chain restaurants all over the world. I'm sure he will find something familiar!

When we were planning our honeymoon; I found the tripadvisor message boards to be an invaluable asset. Maybe he could check that out.

I'm sorry he'll be gone for so long and so far away!
