Our day was perfect! The wedding was at 5 o'clock in a nice park setting overlooking Lake Mead. We were so ready! Once we got there with Summit (our pooch) a bunch of wild long horn sheep decided to make there entrance into the park. Needless to say, Summit had to stay in the a/c motor home (supplied by the wedding company) during the ceremony.
When my dad walked my down the aisle, the minister asked who gives this woman away...My dad replied "My mother and her", we all started laughing and I turned to him and said "Dad, Grandma isn't even here".
The weather was absolutley wonderful...93 degrees! Everyone had a good time.
After our quick ceremony, we all headed down to the Lake and had dinner/dancing out on one of the Mississippi style paddle wheel boats. The sky was clear, and the food was SOOOOO good!
When it was time to cut the cake, I asked Doug NOT to smush it in my face...I was so afraid, so I got the upper hand on that one and just threw it at his face..it ended up in his eye! (Pictures to follow when I get them from family!)
We had a 2 week honeymoon, 1 week was on a houseboat on Lake Mead, the first day on it, it was 113 degree's! Thank goodness for a/c! Summit had a great time on the boat, she swam everyday!
We went to the Grand Canyon (I want to go back!), saw the painted desert, National Petrified Forest, went to San Diego to dog beach, and the last day, we went to see his Grandma who couldn't make it to the wedding. I didn't want to leave, we had such a great time with her.
The week before the wedding, we did go to Yellowstone, the Badlands, saw Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and the most beautful parts of the country!
We didn't get to spend alot of time at the places but we know we will be back one day :)
Uggh, Monday back to work after being gone for 3 weeks! How depressing!
