Finally a bride! :)

My sweetheart soul-mate, Adam, and I finally tied the knot this past Saturday - 5/24 :) It was GREAT!!!

Only a few things went wrong:

1) Someone dropped a large piece of glass in the church elevator and it prevented the elevator doors from opening/closing for awhile.

2) The caterers were 10 minutes late in arriving (doesn't sound like a long time, but it seemed long to the people expecting them).

3) The photographers kept me so long taking photos and people kept wanting to use the bathroom, that I barely had time to put on my makeup and dress before the ceremony. I didn't have time to put my jewelry on at all, so I didn't wear any!

4) After the mothers lit the unity candles and Adam walked to his spot at the end of the aisle, their music faded out, but my entrance music didn't come on! Adam and my sis-in-law were signaling the AV guy to play the next song, but he must have been in lala land, cause he wouldn't do it. I was behind a door at the back of the sanctuary asking my dad "do you hear the music?? do you hear anything??" and finally the AV guy walks over to us and says "are you ready for the music?" I was like YES!!! And so he finally played it...lol. I'm not sure how long the pause was, but it felt like an eternity and people were snickering...lol :bbeek: :bbredface:

Everything else was great though. I only cried a bit during our vows (I thought for sure I'd bawl like a baby), I didn't get very nervous at all and everybody enjoyed themselves. The food was delicious, my hair stayed up, I got to talk to everybody and there were some extremely touching moments that I'll treasure always. All in all, it was a complete success, even though I didn't feel like I knew what I was doing at all...lol.

Congrats!!! Hows it feel to be a MRS. finally?!?!?It feels GREAT!! I still get giddy everytime I tell someone my new name or say "my husband"...teehee :-)

So, tell us about the BEST parts of the wedding! We'd love to hear! Ok...let's see:

1) My brother walked into the room I was having photos taken in after I'd gotten ready. He looked at me and just stood there shaking his head. For a second I thought something was wrong or he was going to make fun of me - but then he just said "Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful." It made me cry!

2) Adam and I were grinning like fools throughout the entire ceremony. As soon as I walked into the sanctuary, he got this HUGE smile on his face and he stared at me, smiling and giggling, my whole walk down. Then throughout the whole time the minister was talking, we were smiling and whispering stuff to each other...lol...it was adorable.

3) We made each other (and apparently a lot of our guests) cry with the vows we wrote for one another. We kept them secret from each other until the actual ceremony...but we both ended up saying similar things. Since one of our main themes was The Princess Bride, we had both used quotes from the movie in our vows - one of his being "Inconceivable" which cracked me up.

4) My brother and father both made speeches/toasts during the reception - both of which were so sweet they made me cry. My bro said he'd hunt Adam down like a dog if he ever hurt me...lol. My dad sang "You are my Sunshine." And they both ended with "Live long and prosper!" lol

5) Between the rehearsal dinner the night before, the receiving line after the ceremony and the reception, I got to talk to everybody. They were all so sweet.

6) A lot of people filled out pages for our guestbook - and very creatively. It's something I will treasure always.

7) We had colorful foam stars with adhesive backs on the tables as decoration. By the end of the reception, guests were sticking them all over themselves and the guestbook - they were a big hit!

8) My new SIL and her fiancé decorated the B&B room we stayed at our wedding night with foam stars and left cookies/candy for us - so sweet!

I know there's more that I'm forgetting...but those are some of the highlights :)
