I am looking for ideas to make my own envelopes. more so a template i guess. i want to take some scrapbook paper (i have a ton to use for different things) and make an envelope that i can put our initials or something on the outside and use to put in flower seed packets. I keep looking for them cheap, but alas i cannot find any that are decorated and cheap. So i decided i have so much scrapbook paper i could make my own envelope out of it and put flower packets i buy from dollar store or someplace in it. then i can decorate the outside however. Anyone know where i can look or have any ideas? thanks for you help.

I've got a cricut machine and have several styles of envelope on my Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. How many do you need and when do you need them?
Send me a private message and lets see if we can work something out.

I didn't have a template... my fiance is a super smart guy. On my journal I have the pic of what we made for envelopes

thanks for replies for help. I actually found a cd making kit at a bargain store in my area. we are going to keep the cd labels for our own use. I am going to use the cd envelopes and stickers for my seed packets...I only spent $10 on 2 kits to cover all of the people we are inviting.

I was going to try and explain how to fold the paper like that lol b/c I dont know how to put links up yet:)

I used to do this when I was in school and writing notes to friends as long as the paper on which I was writing was at least rectangular or square it worked pretty good.

Glad you had a format to link her too:)

The easiest way to get an envelope template is to make one. Find an envelope that is the size and shape you want, gently tear it apart and trace the outline on a file folder or on thin plastic. The possibilities are pretty limitless: I've made envelopes from magazine pages, asian news paper (that I glued to construction paper which makes it sturdier and lines the envelope!), scrapbook paper, wrapping paper, and other decorative papers. Just use double sided tape or glue where the original envelope was glued and use tape or stickers to seal the finished product.:flower:
