You could add a "Join our Mailing List" icon to your web site. Low cost is hard. Since I joined onewed.com three my new clients have found me here. (in less than a month)I also added my listing to every possible free listing I could find. But again, this site has been the most productive. Also see if any of the local bridal shops will let you leave some business cards. And the best free advertising i have found is word of mouth. After working with a few vendors I felt comfortable with I recommend them and visa versa. Good Luck.

I would try local bridal shops and other wedding related vendors in your area. When I first started I got most of my leads from the local bridal shops. Of course I did have to pay $25 a month for them at first then as I got to know them we worked out a trade where I helped promoted them and vice versa. I still work with them on occasion.

The best thing I can think of is word of mouth.. And if someone reffers a client, you can give them a gift card or something. I think that to make money you have to spend money. If you spend a little to get your name out there, you'll get that back.

Yeah that works too and Carrie is right, a happy client is the best advertisement ... it just takes longer when you are just starting ;)

I learned a long time ago that brides want to know you know what you are doing. They like experience and knowledge. So you may have to give away some of your services for less if not free to get a couple of weddings under your belt. That is what I did when I first started.

And if you haven't done so already, get a business licence. It lets people know you are serious about what you are doing. I've had brides ask me if I have one quite a bit.

officiant-fica is right, Onewed and other sites like it are one of the best places to find cheap or free business.

Make you self a link page on your site and go to town on getting listed with as many wedding directories as you can.

I agree with the other post about creating a mailing list. Offer a special "report" for brides that they can receive by signing up. Look to link with other sites that will help build traffic to your site, thus exposing your mailing list to a vast number of people. There are other paid options such as the Bridal Lead Club and other advertising that will supply you with the names of potential clients. The only problem with this in my opinion is that these names can be cold-- it is best to generate your own listing, so you will know that people are truly interested in your services, which means that your attempt through email or postal mail will not get deleted or trashed.
