View Full Version : I lost it!
I took of my wedding band and e-ring this morning and set them on the bedside table so that I could paint my nails. (I don't trust myself with nail polish!) I have a ceramic box I usually put them in, but I broke it the other day so I just left them on the table. I left the room for about half an hour because somebody knocked on the door and when I walked back in to put my rings back on I noticed that my wedding band wasn't there. My e-ring was still sitting there, but my wedding band was gone! Are you kidding me? I've had the sucker for 4 months and I lose it!
I think that Gizmo jumped off of the bed, onto the table, and onto the floor; knocking down my ring in the process. We've looked everywhere and we can't find it. I was sorting tons of clothes to wash so I guess I need to go through each piece and shake them out. I mean, it has to be in the bedroom! It just haaaas too.
I was being all pathetic and I told Chad that I lost our promise. He said, "No honey you lost the symbol of our promise." and then laughed. Yeah, hilarious. :snide: :grinhappy:
Awwww Keely that sucks!!! You'll find it, just don't let anyone into your room till you do LOL. Maybe check the litter box??? :urgh:

If your hubby was home at the time, I'd frisk him for it too or threaten him with putting on the duct tape and then ripping it off of his legs. Maybe he decided to play a joke on you. Just seems almost odd that wedding ring ain't there but e-ring is.

My FH did that to me with my E-ring one time. I'd def make sure you frisk him a little bit, just to make sure he isn't trying to make you squirm or something.
I hope you find it soon!!
Nope, Chad wasn't home at the time! He came home shortly afterwards. I would be very happy if he was playing around and took it. I wish! :grinhappy:

It has to be in your room somewhere, but I agree with the ladies, watch the poop just in case!

oKay havent had this happen with Ering but when I first got my class ring my sisters cat knocked it off the coffee table, I was sleeping on the couch b/c we had some family staying the night and when I went to sleep I took it off an put it on the coffee table, right next to my head pretty much! And I guess the cat saw it and b/c it ws shiny decided to play with it...we found it a day or so later under my moms cedar chest! Needless to say I was ready to kill me a kitty! But in all actuality it was my fault for not putting it in a safer place:) Dont stress TOO bad you will find it. It has to be in your room somewhere! look between the mattress of the bed and the bed frame I've lost stuff that I sat on my bed there before and it took me days to find it. good luck!

i would search the whole apartment and strain the kitty litter in case she dropped in there. and as gross as it is squish the poop to make sure it is not there. you will find it!!! it might take the cat a couple days to pass it if she ate it so keep checking.

I was going to suggest what Scrwballsgrl said about between the mattress and bedframe - especially if the table is close to the bed, it could be there or tangled in the folds of your sheets. Another trick to try is when its dark, take a flashlight and slowly and methodically go over the floor, and from different angles. Who knows, it could be propped up on its side next to the table leg or baseboards or something and it would be very hard to see. Good luck! Keep us posted.

I HAVE to put my rings, jewellery, etc. in a box of some sort if I take them off. My cat is playful, and she likes to bat things around with her paws… especially if they are on the table, night stand, counter, etc. So, yeah, that could have happened. Your cat saw something shiny, wanted to play with it. This sounds weird… get down on your hands and knees and crawl around. LOL. Look from your kitty’s perspective. I HAVE done this, and I HAVE found things this way.
Good luck!!

Any luck finding it????
No luck yet, guys! I haven't been home much though. :snide: Ugh, been busy. Chad said that he would help me look tonight when he got home from work. I'm on poo watch...it's about as fun as it sounds!! ;) I feel so naked with only my e-ring! And to think that I first thought having the wedding band and e-ring on together was uncomfortable.

So this just barely happened to me. I lost my e-ring, and I was completely certain I had last seen it next to the bed on the night stand, but then a week later my FH found the ring under the couch in the living room. We have no cats and a dog who couldn't have gotten the ring there, so maybe you left it somewhere outside the bedroom, and you just forgot.
Just relax, if you lost it in the house, it will turn up. Good luck

oh no! I hope you find it soon! My cat used to play with my "pretend" e-ring. He would knock it off the table and play with it, and push it under things. Like clothes, other closets, cabinets, end tables. Check under things! When he got bored with it, he just left it where he hid it last! Good luck!

how about taking the kitty to the vets and have her xrayed. That way you would know if you should watch poo for several days or look elsewhere.

At least you don't sound stressed about it. I'm sure it will eventually turn up.
Gizmo actually has an appointment tomorrow to see if we need to put her back on insulin. I'll have them do an xray too! Yeah, I'm trying not to be too stressed out about it. There's nothing that I can do now, but just keep looking and hope for the best. I have randomly burst into tears though, I admit!

I bet it fell into a pocket or hem of something that was laying there. That could hide it really well!
I did have to dig through a litter box once for a ring, though. It wasn't something she ATE, though...it was that she carried it around in her mouth and put it there. Odd cat. :snide: At least I found it!

I hope you find your ring! I'd be in big trouble if I lost mine! Lol. I'm always afraid that I'm going to when I take them off. I'm afraid that they'll go down the drain in the shower or something, so I take them off then.

i lost the actual e ring one time! i found it an hour later in a pile of clothes :irked: i was flippin out!
Hah. I almost wish I was in trouble. Chad is wayyy too easy going to the point where it gets annoying. I'm beating myself up enough as it is and I'm sure that he knows that though.
My finger is so darned small that it could be hiding anywhere! :bbeek:

During my second marriage I lost my ring one morning. I had put it on the soap dish next to the sink. When I got out of the shower I didn't really remember seeing it. I looked high and low for about 3 hours crying hysterically. After I calmed down I was back in the bathroom and I picked up my tea cup which I had left in the bathroom under the soap dish. Yep bottom of the cup there sat my ring. You will find it when you least expect it.

My ring story ....
One friday, I noticed that my diamond was missing (from my first engagement ring). I was hysterical. I searched everywhere (yeah I know ... needle in a haystack). Heck, I even vacuumed our apartment from top to bottom and went through the vacuum bag contents bit by bit. By the Sunday, my place was spotless but I still didn't have my diamond.
Monday morning, I got in the car to drive into work and guess what was sitting on the passenger seat. Yep, that needle in a haystack!
Don't give up hope.
Just one question which has been needling me since I first read this post and I hate to suggest it but ... the person(s) that came to the door ... did they come in your place? Into your bedroom for any reason when you weren't with them? In my mind, anyone that would steal a ring would take the engagement ring but ....

Oh no! I lost my e-rin once for about 3 hours and I was beside myself. It had fallen between our mattress and our bedframe. It wasn't until I picked the matress up that I could even see it. Might be worth a try for you?

Someone said it earlier in the posts....
but i was hoping by the time I got to end of all of them you would have found it :bbcry:
Isn't it weird how things just disappear sometimes. Like socks in the dryer.
Nope. No plans to replace it yet. We're almost done paying off our rings and I just don't have the heart to put another ring on that card. I actually looked at some rings at Target for the time being, but they all just looked so incredibly fake. I was thinking about finding a thin silver band until I can get another band like I had before.
Keely, I'm so sorry about your ring :( That's such a bummer. I hope you find it... as long as you live where you live, it's gotta be there somewhere!
That's what I keep thinking too!
*Sigh*
I just went roaming around our bedroom looking for my ring. I don't know if I will ever be able to let this go! I must cry about it atleast once a week. Every once in a while I catch myself laying in bed trying to go to sleep and wondering if my ring is just sitting there in the dark somewhere. A little nutso, Keely! :bbeek: On one hand it is just a material possession, but on the other hand it is the ring that Chad placed on my finger when he promised to forever love me on the best day of our lives together thus far. I feel so incomplete with just my e-ring.
Ugh, this sucks and I just needed to complain a little...more. :grinhappy:

Could it have rolled somewhere? Try rolling a quarter and see where it goes. It there is a definate slant it should follow the same path as the ring.
