Here's something interesting for all you brides:

The U.S. Postal Service introduced a new booklet of stamps designed especially for mailing wedding invitations and RSVPs. The Our Wedding booklet contains 20 one-ounce and 20 two-ounce first-class stamps. Each one-ounce stamp is intended for use on the RSVP envelope often enclosed with a wedding invitation. Each two-ounce stamp will accommodate the heavier weight of a wedding invitation with enclosures. The one-ounce first-class stamp is also available by itself in a pane of 20 stamps, self-adhesive.

Artist Michael Osborne designed the 2006 Our Wedding stamps especially for mailing wedding invitations and RSVPs. Both stamps feature an illustration of a white dove-a time-honored symbol of peace, love, and fidelity-and a heart, surrounded by calligraphic flourishes set against a lavender background (one-ounce denomination) and a light green background (two-ounce denomination).

Reminiscent of a bygone era when letter writing was a form of art, the stamp design is based on Spencerian script, an elegant mid-19th century form of cursive penmanship that is growing popular again with commercial artists. To create the stamp art, Osborne consulted vintage etiquette and penmanship books that contain plates of calligraphic designs used to embellish correspondence (including love letters) during the 18th and 19th centuries.Buy them here (http://forums.onewed.com/showthread.php?p=20085#post20085).

I was so worried those stamps weren't going to come out in time for me to send out my invitations, but they did! We put breast cancer stamps on our RSVP cards, so we didn't use the purple ones, but we did use the green ones! We had to go to two different post offices because we went to get them the day they came out and the first post office didn't have the 63 cent ones. Then we went to the second post office and had to wait in line for an hour! But that didn't matter, because I got the stamps I wanted! :)

I haven't though much about the stamps. But I will be soon. I have to get printing out these invites and stuff. I will have to get envelopes soon for them all. You send th einvites out about 2 months before the wedding date right? If so I have to have them out by April 10th. AARRGG!!! I gotta get to work on these i guess.

Yes Gwen, about two months before. On accident, I did mine EXACTLY two months before. I popped them in the mail last Saturday afternoon and I had missed Saturday's collection, so they went out on Monday.

Jason didn't really care about the stamps either Brandi, but I'm a big mail person (I've sent balls to people before...that's fun!) so I had to have the perfect stamp picked out. I wish I could have afforded to get our pictures put on stamps...that would have been really cool!
