When are you getting married?

Well for the colors the obvious colors would be blue, white and silver....you could use gelt in little satchels for the favors....candles for centerpieces, etc.!

What ideas do you have?

Hi! Thanks for posting! Actually the authentic Hanukkah colors are blue and gold (I know now-a-days a lot of companies use blue, white and silver), so we thought of that.

Also I thought of maybe having a menorah on each table decorated as a centerpiece and then the eldest at each table can light one.

DF also thought of making it a Hanukkah party with Hanukkah foods like potato pancakes.

I like your idea of candles, I was thinking the theme would be "Festival of Lights"

Would love to hear more ideas you or anyone has!

Festival of lights would be a great theme!

We have always had silver in the wrapping paper etc growing up...it might be okay.

You could have dreidels at each table and you could have trivia about you and your FH instead of the others.

So I assuming you are getting married during Chanukah?

Hi! Yes we are getting married on Sunday December 25th which is Hanukkah.

I think it's good based on the also-Christmas date that we plan things in advance. I just got a reply from a venue that said they are closed on Dec. 25th every year. Plus I think it will help with Christian guests to know in advance, although I hear that Christian couples do have a Christmas Day wedding.

I love your idea of dreidels on the table, I saw a photo of something I think would look great! Maybe you're right, we can also have silver and white as accent colors. How would we do trivia? Like on a card?

You could have different question for each spin of the dreidel...so for example if it hits nun....it could be a questions about you guys?

Or you guys can actually play dreidel?

So is your date for sure 12/25??

Hi yes, our date is for sure 12/25/11

We haven't announced it yet although I told my close family because we have a ways to go. But I think because it's also Christmas, it would be good to actually reserve a place 3 years in advance!

It may wind up being a synagogue but I really don't want to use his even thought that rabbi knows us best, because his ex-wife lives in the town of the synagogue and when she found out we got engaged, a couple of hours later she happened to be at the synagogue the same time she knew we would be there to congratulate us.

I just can't help imagining she will show up and peek in at our wedding just enough for him to see. :(

When I told him, he said we'll fake her out and then have it there. But she'll probably find out being she belongs to the same synagogue (because of their kids)

Any ideas?

Are you still having it this year on the 25th and theme still the same?
You could have the chocolate coins wrapped in blue tulle at each place setting with the dreidel .
