Fun Stuff Exchange

I love making little gift baskets and stuff, and I was thinking, who wants to do a bigger exchange? Nothing major.. Just something that you get enjoyment from. ;)

StickersJust a few little goodies that would bringten up someone's day! If anyone is interested, I think it might be fun! :)

My sister is into stuff like this. They do sc@pbooking (sc@pbooking) exchanges and had a 12 days of Christmas exchange. There was 12 in the group and each sent in 12 of the same little item of their choice up to a certain amount. The object was to open one gift EACH night the last 12 day until Christmas. My sister said she got so excited that she opened all of her on the night she got them.
I wouldnt mind doing it but I have one question. Would we do it in a circle, like A sends to B, B sends to C, etc. or would we have to all send in a certain number of baskets?

Just like the postcard exchange.. You only send to one person. But, to make it fun, you can't send to the person that you sent to last time.. So, we might want to wait until after everyone receives their postcards to pick.. But in the meantime we could start working on getting the stuff together.

$20 is a lot to me most of the time, too. You can send whatever! If you do crafts, you could send something that you made yourself.. Anything really. It's just a little box of fun stuff. I guess it's intended to be a surprise, so you can do anything at all. Spend as much or as little as you want. :D

I suggest the dollar bins at Target when you first walk into the store and when you are in the cosmetic section. I am always picking up little cute things there for my "grab bag" I keep in my desk at work. The kids get to putt out of it when their birthdays come around or if I am very pleased about something that they did.

Ya know what I've been thinking lately about all these exchanges we've been doing. We should set a deadline for when its GOT TO BE IN THE MAIL. That way we can cut down less on how long its taking for everyone to get these things. (I'm talking both the postcard and fun stuff exchange!) I want to join the next fun stuff exchange but I'm worried because I see a lot of people putting forth the effort but not getting anything in return, kind of thing. Another thing I would suggest is to not let everyone who joins the site yesterday to jump on it too! I think we should wait and see if they truely stick around the site and are commited to posting and such!! This is just my opinon....I wonder if anyone has any ideas how we can improve the exchanges for everyone included in them!? Sorry if I've offended anyone with my ideas and suggestions!!

Im not offended....youre right. Some people are getting shortchanged! And there could be a variety of reasons included getting married and such.;)
My suggestion would be to have people "swap" with eachother. Ex. I get one from Shawna and mine goes to her. Then in the next round, Shawna and Lacey swap, and me and Gwen, etc. To me it would be sooo much easier to keep track of who has had who.
But since I havent been one of the ones short changed, its really unfair to voice my opinion. Sorry yall!!!

I can say that my buddy hasn't recieved thier things, and I sent them about 2-3 weeks ago. I don't have a clue as to what happened, but things like this make me feel guilty.

I put togehter the post card exchange and I love receiving post cards from different places. But again I did not get one from either round. I did have one person send me one and I thank you so much. She was not my post card buddy but I did send her a goddie package and she sent me a ty note and a post card. Thanks so much. It actualy made my day. I was excited when I saw them. Thanks again sooo much.

I love the idea of the exchanges but as much as I put into to putting one of them togehter I have not gotten anythign in return. I would love to get even a postcard. but I will continue to do each round for you all. I love the idea of it and I am glad you all do to.

As for the other stuff Shawna said, I have to say I sort of agree. I feel sort of short changed, but I am trying to give my buddy the benefit of the doubt (I don't know who she is) maybe she is one getting married soon and is side tracked with all that or maybe she is one of our international members and that is why it's taking so long, who knows.

But I agree, maybe we should have some rules or guidelines for this. Like maybe you have to have be an active member for like a month before you can be a part of the exchange. And you ahve like 2 weeks to get your postcard/package in the mail?

Personally I like both exchanges but I wouldn't feel so bad if I got 'jipped' on the postcard thing as that cost me less than $1, but with the Fun Stuff thing, I spent a bit more.

As for the deadline, I can see that too. I guess I still haven't received the post card from the first round (I found out the one I got was the one from the second round). Which isn't so bad because I LOVE sending mail, but it was kind of sad for awhile when I was so excited I was bouncing down to the mailbox. hehe...i'm a dork:cool:

I didnt get a postcard in the first round either but i think that was just a mix up so Gwen sent me one on next lot as she had my address anyway. But i know what u mean i had spent ages looking for somewhere that done postcards of my area and then spent ages waiting for nothing back - as much as i dont mind having nothing back its disappointing cause ur expecting it innit?
As far as time goes i think my postcard took almost 2 weeks to get to Canada!!
Compared to most of u then i dont post much, mainly 'cos of time difference and by the time im on here your all tucked up in bed and everything that can be said has been, and by then it takes me an hour to read thru' the day befores posts lol Can look out when uni is finished tho cos then i will have time to plan my wedding properly and to get on here at all sorts of times!!

eh, it comes and goes ... feeling sort of bad right now. It is usually worse in the morning to mid afternoon and again at night. It usually doesn't last more than a couple of months so hopefully by the end of the month it will level off. Thanks for asking though!

So back to the topic ... as of yesterday, I still haven't gotten my package :( I am gonna got by the post office here in a bit, maybe today will be the day, but I am not holding my breath.
