Hi Everyone,
I am new here. Just wondering if anyone has wore their glasses for their wedding day. I do have contacts, but I find my face looks fat without my glasses. I have wore glasses for about 4 years now and totally love the extra feature they bring to my face. Also, if I were to wear them, does it screw up the pictures????

I wear glasses as well. But I am not going to wear them for my wedding. I have found that they give off too much of a glare. I'm sure your photographer will be able to do something about this, but I am not going to take any chances.

I have had glasses since I was 8 years old. I cannot wear contacts they drive me crazy. I HATE them. I will be wearing glasses on my wedding day (even though my mother is still portesting). I have had them for almost 20 years, they are as much a part of me as the nose that htey are perched on. For the formal shots though I will probably slide them off. But not for too long. If I have to go without them for more than a few minutes I start to get a headache.

If you feel most comfortable with them on, then go for it, wear them!! I'm sure for photos a good photographer can take away ANY glare!! My SIL who was also my MOH wore her glasses then decided to take them off, the only problem is, she squints when she isn't wearing glasses or contacts so in one photo she looks like her eyes are closed and it almost ruins the whole photo!! But like I said a good photographer can work with glare however if you are haing out door photos and your glasses are the ones that automatically darken on their own, they WILL NOT be able to lighten them so you can see your eyes in the picture!! (speaking from expierence!! My granny has those and she looks like a blind person in our pictures!!) So yeah, back on topic, wear them if thats what makes you feel comfortable!! I went without glasses because I am near sighted, people in the distance are slightly fuzzy but I could handle it!!

If you really love your glasses wear them. Like the other girls said a good photographer should be able to work with them.
My FH wears glasses all the time. He can't see 4 ft in front of him without them. I never even thought about him not wearing them. It's just apart of who he is.

FH wears glasses and our photographer suggested to help eliminate the glare, most eye doctors will let you borrow a pair of frames without lenses in them. That is what he is planning on doing. He will just wear them for the photo session between the ceremony and the reception.

You can get them made for anti-glare. I'm either going to get contacts (I've never had them before, though, not sure how I'll like them) or I'm getting a new pair of glasses for the whole thing. I love my glasses, though, so I might wear them! ;)
I might get a pair just for the wedding and not wear them until then.

I actually went out and got contacts before our wedding. I've worn glasses since kindergarden and I can remember having glare and my eyes looking distored in some elementery school pics, so I was worried that would happen to my wedding pics. But by the end of the day they were stuck to my eyes and Joe had to get them out for me. I have not worn them since......:bbeek:

I hav eonly had glasses since last August. I wear them untill I walk in the house and then I take them off. I wont be wearing mine for the most part of the wedding but most likely durign the reception seeing I am near sighted ( now any wyas, i used to have perfect visions, I hate getting old lol ) I want to be able to see everythign that is going on without getting a headache. My FH has to wear his or he can't see a thing so hewill have his on. I am thinking of putting mine on for a photo or 2 just for the h3ll of it. I think they look good on me but I just dont want them on in all my photos. I am still getting used to them.

I'm feeling much the same way, Rainbow. :bbconfused: I'm DEFINITLEY getting new frames, though. I hate the ones I have now. :bbmad: They don't look terrible on me, but I didn't pick them myself. My old pair broke, and they were the only frames that my old lenses fit.. Carlo's Aunt's Late Husband was an Eye Doctor, and she stuck the old lenses in new frames since I need to get my eyes checked (plus, FREE!). When I go (here pretty soon, actually) I'm going to get a pair or two of glasses that I REALLY like. Probably a regular pair, and a pair of sunglasses (or maybe transistions?) so that I'll have variety. I loved my old glasses, though.. I doubt they make them anymore.. :bbcry:
If you were glasses most of the time you dont look like you without them!!!

I wear glasses and Joe wears glasses as well. I am going to get contacts before the wedding though. I wore contacts up until two years ago...I got lazy - glasses are easier.
When I tried on my gown, my veil and tiara, the glasses seemd like too much. They probably won't show up in the pics, they're rimless with narrow titanium legs, but....it just looked too busy.
I would imagine that Joe will wear his glasses, however, he wore contacts previously as well and, like me, just decided that glasses are easier.

Another thing to think of is if you have glasses that get darker when your in the sun light. Steve has those and we were told that after the flash going off in your face so many times, they will darken and it will look odd. Or if you take pictures outside you may have to worry about that.
