View Full Version : Wedding chat board rules!
Had to post this so that everyone is on the same page!
The over all rules for everyone is that no one can spam the board except in the 'Announcements and Opportunities' area.. No posting other chat boards, or wedding directories in your signature, ‘Announcements and Opportunities' area as well as in your post, and don’t forget the 'AFFILIATE PROGRAM (http://www.oneweddingchat.com/affiliate.html)' rules.
Other then that have fun! :D

:?:
So then leaving my web site as my signature is not allowed? I thought that was ok as long as the text of the message was not selling?
You can have your company advertising in your signature.. It just can't be a wedding directory or wedding forums. :D

I just wanted to say thank you for this board. It is so nice to be able to answer questions that some of the brides have. Some boards will not let vendors post and you see questions that have such a simple answer and you are not allowed on. So I thank you for letting us be able to do that. I absolutely enjoy posting, reading and participating on this board. I'm also even considering placing an add with One wed.
Have a happy new year
Thank you affiance-events,
Onewed Networks is about bringing the best of everything to evert one.. We try our best to help brides find what they need and vendors like yourself get the business that they want!

I just want to second what affiance had to say.
It is really nice being able to post and not getting yelled at for being a vendor. Just because I am a vendor, doesn't mean I don't know how to restrain myself from selling and just give good advice. (I was also a bride just 2 years ago, so I have some perspective from both sides!)
Thank you for giving us a place that vendors and brides can chat together and learn from each other!

I noticed one of my posts is gone from a thread. I posted a website to get ideas for wedding songs. I am not a spammer, this is how we all helped eachother find what we wanted on other forums. Is this not ok here? We can't post links to any sites?
The post may have been deleted by one of the staff. Some times this happens as we are plagued with companies sending people promoting other wedding planning sites as a bride, because Onewed is a really popular site.
Its fine if you post now and then a couple wedding planning sites, as long as it does not turn into promoting it every time someone is looking for something, as most services are available here.
Hope that helps!

I posted in General Chat about Onewed Street (a website where we have our own street and can draw houses) just as a fun thing people could take part in and now it's gone. Was that considered spam or was I not supposed to do that? I was just wondering why it's gone.

I asked around, and was told that it did not have anything with the onewed(TM) on it and was a survey system after you got done drawing the houses or something. So it was removed.

just out of curiosity...what are the steps to a member being banned? i have been reading posts for a few weeks and have the same concerns about a particular member that it seems many other members have. I personally have removed my personal wedding website from my signature and have not posted these last few weeks because i sincerely do not trust the intentions of one member in particular.
I read a post that mentioned that this member (1 in particular) may be posting just for the discounts...what is this referring to?
thanks for your answers,
rose

There are lots of ways one can get banned, etc. Its up to what they are doing. If you have a concern about another posted please send me a PM with the users name, and some of the post you are concerned about and I will look into it.

I, too, am very excited about finding this site. I am an Alteration Specialist and began reading many bridal forums for the purpose of assisting Brides "through the maze". Most forums will not allow me to post, and it is extremely frustrating to be unable to share my knowledge and expertise. The Vendor Chat forum is unique to this site in my experience.
Thank you, again.

call me stupid since posting to any site is new to me, but what exactly is spam? i wish to talk about my wedding and to vent frustrations as well. don't want my family to become my only source of venting as i would not like to stress them out so much. and my FH as well. he has had enough to deal with. haha.

Pointless topics, or advertisements is spam. ie its unwanted post about a company or their services. 99% of time spam just has to do with people or companies posting advertising in threads of forums about a companies services.

I'm brand new here (today is my first day :) ) and I want to make sure I don't do anything to cause trouble. What are we allowed to have in our signature and are we allowed to post links to our own websites so long as we don't spam them? Can we have them in our signature?

I think it would be best if L3vi answered this, but as far as I know, you can have up to four pics in your sig. That includes smilies, and stuff like that. As far as links to your website, I have only seen links to wedding websites in sigs. I don't know if any other type of website is allowed. But I would wait for L3vi to answer this more thoroughly.

Help! I'm being told that my post has a URL and/or an image in it and I can't post it because I'm not a trusted member....but the post doesn't have a URL or an image in it! What am I doing wrong? Or is there something that I don't know??

Yes it looks for other stuff other then urls and images. I dont tell as I dont feel like dealing with spammers that go around and try to find ways around the system. You just need to build a rep before you can do anything that will be marked as spam or the system could think that is spam.

Im not exactly sure whats happening to you, but I do know that our administrator put some serious blocks on a lot of places for people until they reach a certain number of posts. Its nothing against you new girls so PLEASE dont take offense, but we had a LOT of people coming in spamming the boards, posting porn, etc.
L3vi will be better at explaining whats going on with your posts.
Congrats on your wedding and welcome to the board!

Ok, so if I put it in my signature it isn't spam, but if I put it anywhere else it is? I hate spam myself so don't even want to come close to creating it :(
