Hope I'm on the right thread.. I have a question for all the married ladies here and I needed some advice on this. I just got married in April, and I do plan on changing my name in June after we get back from our honeymoon/vacation. I just haven't done so because of the process I have to go through to get my names changed. The airlines/airports already have a strict check in policy...
My question is.......Do I have to go through all the LEGAL process before I sign my married name?
Sorry if this questions a little crazy.. I'm just confused.....

Not currently married, but was in the past and have changed my name several times. If you are signing a legal document, sign your CURRENT legal name. If you are signing a credit card receipt or something, sign whatever name is on your credit card (you can change the name on your credit cards without any proof, but there may be some confusion if you are asked to show ID and your license hasn't been changed). If you are signing a birthday card or something, sign whatever name you want.

Yeah, I would not sign your married name until you have legally changed your name. It could be a pain to deal with should you have to explain/prove who you are if you don't have ID that shows the married name.
