Here is the story ladies... sorry about the delay, but we just got back from a few days in FL, and I have been super busy...
My wedding day pt.2 : As most of you know, My husband and I were married legally on August 26th, 2007 because my stepfather was terminally ill and we wanted to make sure he got to see me marry the man I love... and that he loved too! My stepfather passed away on Dec. 26th of 2007, but I know he was here in April... The day/weather couldn't have been better...
So this time around.. it was all for celebration...
My family came in on Friday afternoon, we had rented an entire B&B down the road from our house (it was large enough for the whole mother's side to stay) and had both the rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception at the same venue (wonderful idea!)
The rehearsal dinner went well, we had a whole pig roasted and that made for some good BBQ...
I tried to get to bed early.. but that was a bit hard with the girls there and my whole family wanting to hang out...
I will continue with the story in the next post...

The morning of the wedding, we woke up to a beautiful day... the sun was shining, there was a slight breeze and there was zero humidity!
I began getting ready pretty early, as the wedding was at 1:30pm and my photographer wanted to take some pictures before the wedding...
I was smart enough to eat that morning.. and the mimosas were wonderful. When I finally got pinned into my dress, we noticed that someone had pricked their finger in the process and got blood on the back of the dress. So twenty minutes of tonic water removal later, we were good to go.
Like I said before, the weather was wonderful... so at 1:30 the ceremony started.. it was a lot of fun because we were already married, so we had a great friend "officiate" and he did a great job.. I will have to get a copy of the speech he gave and let you all read it...
Ceremony over.. we did a few pictures and then the reception started. Ate some great food! Then we had our first dance to "Can't Fight this Feeling" by REO Speedwagon (I let him pick the food and the first dance song) and then had a father/daughter dance... Both of my parents behaved themselves so that was nice.
I really don't remember much about the day.. I do remember sitting down for "dinner" and taking a quick look at everyone eating and drinking.. it was spectacular.. everyone was having such a good time.. We killed both kegs and all the food...
We danced and partied until way after dark... We only had one down moment.. that was finding out that one of my husbands attendants (the girl) had left for some weird reason (she was supposed to be staying at the Inn) and got pulled over by the cops for driving in the rain with her top down, then she was arrested for a DWI... good times.. she spent most of the night in jail (another friend bailed her out in the morning) and now has to come back from Colorado to be in court for it!

I was just coming back to post that I have absolutely fallen in love with the first song, Heavenly Day, after watching the slideshow. I'd never heard Patty Griffin before, and that song gave me chills. It has been stuck in my head all day, and I'm sure we'll be playing this at our reception.
