Was looking at photo editing vids and thought of a few of you gals that are into photography. It's impressive what they can do these days.
It also reminded me to ask my photographer if she does retouching and such *chuckle*

There is definitely a lot of cool stuff that can be done in Photohop, lots I wish I knew how to do!
But some of these makeovers they do are sad; like changing size and shape of people's noses, lips, neck and such ... it is sad in that some people just can't accept that beauty comes in many forms and does not always fit into any certain "ideal" mold :( Just my opinion though.

Its CRAZY what they can do now!! I like how they have videos showing how its done... I dislike how its in all the magazines and stuff.. Its giving girls an unrealistic view on what beauty is..

Omg! Some of the ones where they change the shade of people eyes was kinda creepy, lol.
Kinda cool to see what is possible though, just so you know they ought to be able to make a blemish disappear if I'm so unfortunate to have one on the wedding day. Not to mention I intend on getting braces in the next month or so....maybe they'll be able to make them disappear in the wedding photos too! lol

Not all photographers do this though and the ones that do usually charge extra for it, it does take while depending on what it is.
I know I love to fix my face in pictures before I share them ;)

I don't mind being retouched for posterity type pictures -- I have some significant scars on my face from a very bad case of chicken pox when I was six, and they look like giant acne scars. They're not, but people tend to assume it's acne and not a serious illness.
So the scars on my face, heck ya, get rid of them, I see them every day, I don't need them in my wedding pictures!
But I draw the line at changing my eye color or bone structure . . . . it took me a LONG time to accept my hourglass figure and my medium frame and my hazel eyes, and I'm not about to fall back into the trap of believing that blue eyes and small bones are somehow more attractive than what I've got.
Hazel eyes and blond hair make me uniquely attractive, and an hourglass figure on a petite height, well, let's just say that I've been compared to Mae West a lot! :) And that's ok with me. I don't need some photographer somewhere changing my picture to fit his own beauty standards.
(I am, however, recommitting to losing weight, not only is that very unattractive -- I can carry a lot of weight and not look 'fat' but this is well beyond that point -- but my health is also being negatively and significantly affected. I need to get healthy! And I don't like looking at myself, so I'm losing weight for no other reason than because I want to, which in the end is the only reason that matters, I think).

The link I gave was mostly artistic :) If I recall correctly. Which is why I was enamored. I have seen a lot of the "extreme photoshop makeovers" as well. On one hand, it's impressive what they can do. But yes on the other I don't believe in putting an unrealistic image of perfect beauty when it's not even attainable and young girl are literally killing themselves to try and look like that these days.
