I have a Question........

I just talked to my sister and she informed me that shes throwing me a "shower" the middle of April. She said she knows that shes not really the one that supposed to be doing it, but since I dont have a MoH, she thinks its OK. Well I cant really disagree, because while shes not my MoH, she definitely acted like one!
Ok.....Im rambling....sorry.....the shower is more of just a "womans get together" that an actual shower, but my question is that too close to the wedding in May? There will be approxiamately 4 weeks between the 2. How does that work?

I don't think that is too close. People I've known have showers around a month before the wedding depending on how many showers they have. Mine will probably start earlier because I am having a shower thrown by my mom's friend (they are calling it the old ladies shower), my friends, and the ladies at church want to do me one. And about your sister throwing it, so what, I think anyone can throw it who wants to give you one. Look at me.

I don't think that's too early, Cindy. I think you can really do one whenever...

A month to six weeks is pretty standard. My wedding is May 27 and my shower is April 22.

Cindy, personally I don't think it really matters. I would never decline a shower invitation because it was close to the wedding date.

I don't think its too soon either Cindy!! It still gives you a month to send out your thank you cards!!

4 weeks before sounds like a good time. The one shower date i know is April 30th. I know my Cousin wants to have a family one and my MOH is doing somthing (but i don't know about it).
With a month you will have time to send the tahnk-you's and not feel really rushed because you are loosing an afternoon where you could be doing final wedding prep etc.
I think you're sister doing it also is really nice. Of anyone who wasn;t your MOH i think she would be the best person. :D
