Anyone have one of these or something similar? Do you recommend anything?

We are having our rehearsal dinner here in June and we have the worst mosquitoes and all different kinds of bugs.

Try some of the "OFF!" stuff for outdoors that they got, since I assume raising chickens is outta of the questions.

OFF isn't enough with as much as we have and when we'll be having 30-40 guests all outside for an evening in June.

The only other thing I can think of is chickens. Apperantly they eat all the bugs...
Or maybe some bug zappers

Do you think citronella torches would work? That might be pretty if you put them all around the yard where you guys are going to be...

Eww I know how you feel. Live out in the woods are we get all sorts of bugs. Try a whole bunch of tiki torches with citrinella <- totally have no idea how to spell that - firefox spell checker said I was wrong :)

LOL Just read Sarah's post ... I agree with what she said :)

Citronella torches are purty but not quite as effective when the little buggers are out in force. :snide:

You might be able to rent large bug zappers. If the party goes on into the night and if you can have a fire pit of some sort, that will help too. You might be able to rent these too -

I read a recent study suggesting that mosquitos don't care for garlic but I don't know if you are supposed to eat lots of it or rub it on your skin :) Either way, it doesn't make a great atmosphere for social mingling

Well we love garlic, I'll add some to the food just to help.

I was thinking tiki torches anyway and candles, I just want to do everything we can to take care of the bugs you know...so they don't ruin the night. Our house is too small to bring everyone inside.

Yankee Candle has a new Conceal line (www.yankeecandle.com) that they say is 2x more effective than Citronella. They're pretty, too :) Otherwise, I'm out of ideas!
