What to do...What to do...?

Where do I begin...? Well I have a 12 yr. old daughter whom I love very much and for the past year she has been having seizures and have yet to figure out why. And I have been with my fiance who has 2 boys of his own from his 2 previous marriages. He has been wanting us to have a child together but I have been kinda weiry about it....With my daughter having seizures and going through the whole pre-teen problems....I have literally started loosing my hair and crying pretty much everyday with worry. I don't think I could handle another child....So I told my fiance to go and get fixed....with hesitation still in the back of my mind...I am not sure if that is what I want him to do. I would love to have another child but wow...this is already alot on my shoulders and I would hate to pull attention away from my daughter or for her to feel neglected. What do I do?

Have you taken her to the Dr? What do they say? Do seizures run in the family? is there a certain time she is having them? You have to get this figured out FIRST!

Why don't you at least wait until things have settled down and you are actually married to make such a huge decision???

^I agree, I say hold off about making such major decisions until you are clear about things. I hope your daughter gets better.

IF you are that stressed out (I would be too!) I would definatly hold off on having a baby. If you are stressed to the the point that you are crying and loosing your hair imagine how youa re going to feel when your hormones are out of wack. I would wiat until you get this figured out!

I agree with the other ladies.. Wait until you find out whats up with your daughter. You don't have to make any choices right away. :) Good luck with finding stuff out! Are there any specialist she could go to?

My daughter has been going to specialist and to a neurologist for the past year. She has had about 21 seizures since they began. But we have had every EEG, EKG, MRI, Cat Scan, Sleep Disorder Testing, Blood work and all that kind of stuff. Although she has not had one in the past 3 months that does not mean that she doesn't have them anymore. The medication she is on is helping her tremendously but at the same time that has it's own affects. She actually has another EEG scheduled for tomorrow and blood work on the 17th and then another type of test to check the medication levels in the liver. Seizures do not run in neither mine or her fathers side of the family. The neurologist she had back in Tx does not consider her to be epileptic but the neurologist she is seeing here in CO says that it is. I just do not want her to be stressed out, she is a kid and should be doing what kids do but at the same time I am afraid she will have a seizure and hit her head. Having a child right now would just take away from her besides I don't think I can have anymore....

I am so glad to hear you have been seeking treatment for the 12 year old's condition! Based on the OP, it was really hard to tell. Whew!

I agree with the others, you need not run out and get pg immediately, but if there is ANY doubt in either you or your FH's mind about future babies I would not have him get a vasectomy. Those are **** near irreversible, and even if you get it reversed, it isn't always successful. I would recommend another form of BC, until you both are absolutely sure how you want to proceed.
