DH is thinking of getting a new little car and was looking at the Yaris Sedan.

It is not the ideal car we'd want, but it seems to be fuel efficient and not terribly expensive.

DH travels 100+ miles per day at work and about $60 every 3 days in gas. Plus the old Cadillac he is driving is on it's last leg and the AC went out a couple months ago, so he was thinking he needs something else.

Anyone have one of this?

I have a 08 Corolla. I get 34 mpg which is a mix of hwy/city. Best ever was 37! I love my Toyota - I'd definately recommend them.

I have to get a car once I graduate in December, and the Yaris is one of the top on our list. We have a lot of Toyotas in the family and have no complaints--fuel efficient, nice looking, and they'll last forever as long as you take care of em.

I used to have a Yaris and loved everything about it except the way it handles in the snow. It sits so low to the ground that it is possible to get hopelessly stuck in just an inch or two of snow. Other than that-great car, awesome gas mileage, well designed. If you don't live in a snowy area I would say go for it!

Robert sat in one when he was looking for cars and didn't like the way it felt. He went with a Honda Civic and its really nice.

I was thinking if I get a new car in the next few years, well knew to me, I would look at the toyota camory hybrid, but they are expensive. I wouldn't buy a brand new one anyway, but maybe a used one. My car is good on gas mileage, but if prices remain where they are then I want a hybrid that will be even better.

I was looking at them before we got the diesel Beetle for the biofuel. If it weren't for the biofuel issue then the Yaris definitely would have been a possibility. I only test drove it once, but I liked it.

DH went to the dealer last night and test drove one. He found alot of good reviews about it online too, so I think we will end up getting it. We just have to find out how much insurance and tags and such will be and where we are gonna get the down payment and all :p

I have one and have had it since Nov 06. I LOVE it! I drive city only and I get about 300 miles on a tank. The handling is very good and I think it is comfortable. I have no complaints, except I lost a hubcap and boy are they expensive. When I bought mine it was so hard to get one, so I had very few choices in color. I ended up getting the light olive green one, and her name is Penelope (pronounce Pee-na-lope, like from the movie Club Dredd).

Woohoo!!! I'd say either the Yaris or a Civic... for the best MPG you can't go wrong with a Honda or Toyota. Can you believe the teensy tiny little Smart car only gets about 37 mpg? Shoooooot.... I'd get a Yaris any day :)

The dealer guy called today and said DH could go pick up the car today, so he took off work early to go get it. Well he got there and it was the wrong car; black with tan interior instead of black on charcoal. I hate it people screw up :irked:

So anyway; apparently the one they told him they were getting for him apparently got sold so they have to find or order him a new one...

He just called and said it looks like they may have found one and should have it here in a day or two; I guess we will see :p
