Have any of you ever checked out the mayo clinics website? I did this quiz, I thought I was pretty knowledgeable about ways to cook healthy. I was wrong. I didn't do very good at all. But I learned alot :D

I thought maybe you girls would like to try the quiz:

Figures, I only got like three right. I can't cook healthy, because I can't eat it then. Of course, that goes the other way, I can't eat really unhealthy stuff either. So I'm straight down the middle of the tracks.

By the way, I am a HUGE sugar freak, and I am ABSOLUTELY certain if you cut a quarter of the sugar out of a recipe, it would DEFINITELY affect the flavor. Silly people...

I got half of them right. I really did think salt made water boil faster. Learn something new every day!

You are right, salt does make water boil faster. The sodium and the chloride that makes up table salt reacts with the hydrogen and oxygent aht make up water. This causes new compounds to form hence lowering the boiling point of the water. (I majored in chemistry my first two years in college)

Salt may make the water boil slightly faster but I think the point in the healthy cooking thing is that this practice isn't good as it adds extra salt to the food and can harden some beans and vegetables ;) *that question was one of the 2 I got right
