I have an idea what do you all think?

OK here's my idea. I was wondering what you all thought about doing a post card exchange. I did this a couple of times with another board I was on for a while. We were from all over the world and it was cool to see a postcard with pictures of where they were from. I could be in charge of it and I would make sure no one got you real address that we didn't want to have it.

I will give a little explanation so you know what I mean.

You all ( those of you who want to take part that is ) give me your real names and addresses. I take all of them and pick a name for each of you to send a card to. No one will know who has who untill you recieve the post card. When all said and done and every one has received their cards I will post who had who. And if you all would like we can do another round. Again I would take all who wanted to and make sure you all get a new name.

So tell me what you think and if you all would like to then I will post about how to get this started.

I am sure no one will mind. I have recieved them from many countries. I will give this a few days to see who all wants to join in and then I will go ahead with getting it started.

I think that is a great idea!! I'm not too sure about having my last name known, but you can send a card to someone using only their first name as well!! I'm game if everyone else is!! I am actually kinda excited about it!!

I'm down with it, but like blueeyedbride I am from such a small town that I know we don't have any post cards. We only have 700 people in my town. I could always send a Texas postcard or I am an hour from Houston I could send a Houston one.

You could always take a picture of your towns "attraction" or something nice around your town and then turn it into a postcard yourself. I've seen that done before!!

I don't know about her, but my town doesn't have any attractions. We have a school, a feed store, a gas station, a post office, a barber shop, and a cafe. Oh, we just got a stop light 2 years ago!!! :D I could take a picture of that because that was the talk of the town!!!!!

Well there ya go!! Anything that is special about your town would do then!! Or you could even take a picture of somethign that interests you. Like your dog or a horse or something...or a field blowing in the wind! I'm sure theres something you could do!

Everyone interested post that they are. After a full list is made of everyone interested, everyone sends that many postcards. Then Rainbowtreat will send everyone an envelope with one of each, so that you have a whole postcard collection!

LOL! There is only about 300 people in our town, all we have a very small store. I know there won't be any postcards for my town maybe I could find one from a town close by. :D

What I am suggesting is that if every one is ok with it you all give me your names and addresses and I can give each person who wants tot ake part one name and address and that person sends their own postcard. Once you have mailed and/or received your post card there will be a thread for you to let us know. But dont say who you sent it to or who sent one to you. We want it to be a suprise as to who you will get one from. If every one liked it and want to give it another try I just give every oen a new name and address. I would PM you the name a address of the person you are to send one to. Once we have all received our postcard I will then post who had who. And then start the next round.

I know some don't want their information our there. That is why it is up to you rather or not you want to join in. And I can promise you I will not ever give your address to any one ( except the one who is to sent you your post card ).

Hey, there really isn't anyone on here that I would mind knowing. And we tend to all feel the same about the people who pop in who we wouldn't want knowing our address, so I trust your judgement. I am excited about this when we get it going. I could send one of my honeymoon postcards at some point! (we get a few for free with stamps and everything...lol)

Ok waiting on one more address and then I will hand out the names and we can get started. I was asked how I was going to pick the names. I hadn't realy thought about it and think I may have Nihcolas do that for me. I know all of you and I odn't want to pick who gets me or who I get for that matter and he doens't know you all just what I talk about but he don't remember who is who. So I will have him put the list together for me. As soon as I get the last address we will start. I can't wait!

So far we have 14 girls in on this.

I am so excited!! lol!! I can't wait to get my first post card!! After the first time, you could just move everyones name up on the list one spot and then everyone goes from there and so on and so forth!! Just a suggestion!!

OK I have all 14 addresses and the order has been picked. I used numbers. I numbered each name, placed those names in a container. Then I wrote the numbers 1 - 14 on pieces of paper and put them in another container. I then pulled a name and then a number and matched them that way. It was very random. Give me time to get the PM's in order and you all should have you names to send a post card to either tonight or tomorrrow night. Depending on what goes on with my kids tonight. I have to pick up my daughter and do the supper and bath thing. So if I have the time tonight I will get them out to you all.

Ok your names and addresses of you post card buddies are being sent to your PM. If your in the USA and have a buddy in the USA please adjust your address. Some of you are out of the USA so I just added it to all the addresses to be sure every one was covered.

Now that you have your name and address please don't tell any one who you have. We want it to be a suprise when each person recieves their postcard. I will start a new post where you can post that you have sent yours and when you have recieved
yours. You can say thank you through PM or just by saying thank you postcard buddy but again DON'T tell us who you had or who sent to you. I will post who had who once every one has recieved their card.

I am glad you all liked this idea. If all goes well we can do this a few times and we will all have postcards from all our new friends. Have fun.
