I want to get in on another exchange...I missed out on the last one:purplex: Any ideas?? I think a summer time one would be fun but I have no ideas...lol...I will leave that up to you ladies!

WebLady

These are always fun; I can't think of anything really Summer related though.

ETA - Maybe we can do king of a "Holiday in July" sort of thing; and exchange small gifts. Or maybe just do a key-chain exchange; maybe something from where we live ... I think Elizabeth mentioned something about this idea before.

OHH i love the keychain idea...lets do that!!! You can find super cute keychains!! :bblol:

WebLady
04-26-2008, 11:38 AM
I'd be up for that :D You want to be the organizer? Or we could use Elfster like before with the Holiday exchange.

I think we should finish the CD exchange first though; maybe we can have people sign up starting soon, then start around the end of June or early July

04-26-2008, 11:54 AM
Ohh yeah we can wait till the other one is over!! We can have people get in for it in a couple weeks or so...or whatever you think. How about you be the organizer for this one...I might get busy in a couple weeks cause of finals and I dont want to be MIA!!

I am excited..I love keychains..hehe!!

Cool; sounds good to me :D

I can do it and use Elfster like we have done before.

I guess we can just have anyone that wants to participate let us know here then we will make up the Elfster thing with details later.

As always we will ask that members that want to be involved be those that are regularly active and have been here for 3 months and/or have at least 100 posts

ooooh i want to be in. ^_^ but im not sure what an elfster is... and if i would be considered as regularly active- i have a feeling no one knows me lol???Elfster (http://www.elfster.com) is a website that makes it easy to organize exchanges like this ;) We have used it a couple of times before with other exchanges.

"Regularly active" means that you post regularly; like you don't go long periods between posts

That and the 100 post and/or 3 month thing is just meant to make as sure as we can that everyone involved will actually participate and no one gets stiffed. Plus since personal information is involved (addresses and such) we would rather exchange with people we see on here often and have sort of become friends with :grinhappy:

I think you would qualify though :frogg:

I really enjoyed the X-Mas ornanment exchange. My postcard that I sent out got lost in the mail. So I did not enjoy that one. I was unable to participate in the current CD exchange because I am not computer music savy. Can't wait for the next exchange! The keychain or the magnet sounds fun. Count me in!

I voted "other". I like ALL the ideas, but with all of us from such different places, how bout something native to where someone lives? Like I'm in California, and Elizabeth is in Canada. I could send her something that's real Californian and she can send someone down here something that's true Canadian (Just an example). But set a price limit of like $5 max - or it has to be DIY'd - or something like that.

Just a thought :)

Well, you got your state bird, your state flower, your state motto, your state tree, and things your state is known for - like you said Peaches :)

Totally off topic, but Peaches is one of my nicknames LOL.

I voted "magnet" because I'd actually display that, and I have nowhere to put a keychain (I don't put them on my keys).

But I'd LOVE to do books someday. how about your favorite child's book, or picture book, or your buddy could list their favorite anything (hobby, animal, etc) and we'd have to find a book that incorporates that somehow? BOOKS! :grinhappy: :D

OK, I guess we will go ahead and start the sign up for this one this week. What do you guys think about just doing Key chains and/or Magnets? Everyone can mention their preference and maybe little ideas of things they like to help their buddy.

If that is cool with you guys then just let me know here again who wants to be in (remember, you have to be an active member here and have been here for 3 mos and/or have 100+ posts to participate); even if you have posted before (just to make sure you are still in) and I will send you an Elfster invite :D

Yeah, it is sort of like a "Secret Santa" thing. You can write your name on the package when you send it, we will just keep it quiet on the board until your buddy gets it ;)

Then when everyone gets their package they will know who it is from and can post pictures and a thank you :frogg:

I don't think anyone can get more than one person. The person you have was involved in one of the other exchanges we did through Elfster, maybe that has something to do with what you saw.

oh ok, now i get it..... DUH!!:grinhappy:

I couldn't find anything cool for my buddy locally, so I found something online last night. I ordered a magnet from CafePress and had it sent direct to my buddy. So they should get a little package from me in 3-4 days :grinhappy:

That's what I did - I ordered it online - but my buddy didn't put her address so now I have to see if the seller will hold the item till I can get her the address. :D

My buddy's address is not on their elfster page. I asked for it, so I'm waiting to see if she replies!!! I can't wait to send their gift!!!

Interesting. Brandi, any ideas why our addresses aren't showing up? I know I put my address on there to begin with, but I was still messaged and asked for my address - even though I went into my profile and varified that my address is indeed saved on my profile. I had to message my friend for her address... and I've seen a few others that have had to....

I know I set something to private where only the partner could see the person's whole profile.

ETA - OK, I unchecked the private thing; apparently it is not working right and restricting everyone from seeing the contact information :bbconfused: But it should still only be our group that sees your stuff. But if you don't want to post your address, just be aware that your buddy will have to ask you for it.

Right on, I can see the address now - not sure if she updated it or if that adjustment you made made the difference LOL. Thank you!

That helped!! I got my buddy's address and just shipped her gift!! I found something online that I thought was cute, and had it shipped straight to her!

I found a keychain for my buddy yesterday! When we send it do we put their user name as their last name? And do we put our name on the envelope or do they find out who it was after they get it?

You can put your name so they know who it was from too; we are not doing any big reveal :frogg:

Stick around and stay active and maybe next time you can :frogg:
