Hello everyone. Long time lurker, first time poster :bblol:!

Forgive me if I have missed something - I did look for quite a while - but is there a section on here for wedding music? Choosing songs for the ceremony, songs for the reception (first dance as man and wife) etc? I don't see any.

If not I'd certainly like to start one as I'm in the middle of making my choices. Any input would be much appreciated!

I'm interested in everyone's feedback on specific songs appropriate for specific moments in the ceremony and reception. Make sense? I'll start! :bblol:

Ceremony:

Bride Entrance - My Girl, The Temptations

Reception:

First dance as man and wife: In Your Eyes, Peter Gabriel

Father and daughter dance: Isn't She Lovely, Stevie Wonder

I look forward to song suggestions and event additions. What about...

Cake cutting, garter toss, last dance, etc?

We haven't made all our music choices yet, but here's what I know so far...

Ceremony - (all instrumental, harp and violin)
Seating of mothers: "Ave Maria"
Bridesmaids' processional: leaning toward "Canon in D", even though it's so popular, I just really like it
My processional: "Aria di Mezzo Carattere"
Recessional: theme from "Final Fantasy"

Reception -
Entrance: "Throne Room" from "Star Wars"
First dance: "Better Together" by Jack Johnson
Haven't decided on any other reception music.

Reception:
Entrance : TBD
First dance: Keeper of the Stars - Tracy Byrd
Mother/Son dance: Angels - Randy Travis
Father/Daughter Dance: My Wish - Rascal Flatts
Song for Matt and Sierra (his 7 y/o daughter): You can't touch this - MC Hammer

Last dance - probably Bob Marley - cuz we'll be OFF TO JAMAICA!!!! :whoohoo:

For the ceremony, we are having a string quartet sooo...

Processional - Canon in D. I am absolutely obsessed to that song and will have the bridal party walk down to that too. Obviously, will have some transition when I come down

Recessional - TBD - but, I think Handel's "Rejoice"

First dance - Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love"

Not sure about the rest yet!
