Hi everyone. I am new. Just got engaged a week ago to the sexiest man on the planet! So, we will not be getting married for another year and a half. But I have been buying every magazine and wedding movie ever made. I don't even want to go to work. I just want to sit at home and day dream and indulge in everything WEDDING! Im not a bridezilla though, heehee.

My latest obsession is 27 dresses. I loved it in theatres and Kathyrn Hiegl had her hair done in this amazing upsweep with a lily in it. I really want my hair like that. Did anyone se this movie? Do you know the hair I am talking about?

I haven't seen the movie yet but I want to... I know the feeling with FH and I first got engaged all I could think/talk/do was wedding realted and I wanted everyone to be as physc'd as I was:) (I'm a little better now, but am still chompin' at the bit to get this show on the road;))

I've added some wedding classic movies to my BM totes like the wedding planner and the wedding date, also wanted to include wedding crasher and wedding singer but we packed all our stuff up for our move so I have no idea where everything is right now lol

Don't forget Father of the Bride and Run Away Bride.

I am buying 27 dresses when it is out in a few days. I hope John does not strangle me. I made him take me to see it in the Theatre! But i will have it playing in the backgrounnd for weeks to come. I need to freeze frame the sot of her hair in the end, lol. I want to do our wedding at The Boat house! My friend had hers there and they did such an amazing job! the food was incredible.

I saw 27 dresses - and it was fantastic!!! I think the acting could be better (Not Kathryn Heigle's, she was great!), but the movie was great - Matt even liked it a lot!

Whose acting in it did you not like? I think Ed Burns could have done a better job. But he is more of a pretty face, lol.

I liked it! I thought the kiss scene was a little stupid (a bit like the one in PS: I love you).
I mean how can you kiss someone and be like "OK, forget this"?
Every kiss I've ever had was fantastic, and even if first kisses can be awkward, the second ones are always much better!

But apart from that I loved it!

I loved 27 Dresses. And Father of the Bride. Those are my favorite wedding movies. :)

I'm usually not much for "chick flicks", but my favorite wedding movie has to be Steel Magnolias. (okay...so the wedding is only the first part...but it's my favorite part of the film). Father of the Brid comes in a close second. :)

Parhlion: I love Steel Magnolias!!!

I like Runaway Bride too, the part where Richard Gerr gives her the speech about what people should really say when they ask someone to marry them. That is the funniest probably b/c its true! lol
but I love all Julia Roberts movies(the chick-flicky ones) so I have Runaway Bride, Steel Magnolias & My Best Friends Wedding.

You are hilarious! I agree with you on the kiss part, though. Especially considering how IN LOVE with him she was. I also thought it was out of character for him to do that. ind of a jerk move. He was about to marry her sister!

He took me to New hampshire for my birthday and we rented a cabin. We took a hike during the day and then when we came back to the cabin he gave me a birthday card with a poem in it. The poem did not have an end so when I looked up he finished it by asking me to marry him. It was lovely and perfect and he is amazing!

How about you?

My favorite wedding movie was "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"! I'm not even Greek but the way the couple had to handle family situations was an inspiration!!!!

I got to meet the Nina V. the women who wrote and starred in it. She went to the same improv school as me. She was soooo nice! The bridesmaid dresses in that were awful too! They should have thrown a copy of those in 27 Dresses!

Father of the Bride is great! It was on TV the other night. If you liked that then you will def. like 27. I kinda want to see that other film with patrick Dempsey that is out now. Where he is a bridemaid.

SPOILER!!!

Okay, so I just saw 27 Dresses over the weekend...Am I the only one who didn't think it was all that great? It was really depressing. It all just seemed so...unbelievable. I mean, did her boss really think that her sister was genuinely the outdoorsy type? I mean, all you have to do is look at her stilettos and you could kind of tell. And why was Katherine Heigl being such a b*tch to the journalist guy? And why didn't she just tell her sister how she felt about her boss? And then, yes, her kissing her boss and realizing that because she didn't 'feel anything' was reason enough to ditch the guy she'd been in love with for years was absolutely retarded. I don't know. By the end of the movie, I ended up so frustrated that the happy ending was kind of ruined for me.

Of course, I'm not much on chick flicks anyway (even if I AM in wedding mode), and I just recently saw 'The Holiday' which I loved (Jude Law *drool*), and EVERYONE I know had been ranting and raving about it, so maybe I was holding it to too high a standard.

:cloppy:

THANK YOU! I also didn't care for 27 Dresses, thought it was okay to watch once. For someone who wanted nothing more than to help people the whole movie, she retaliated against her sister in the worst possible way. Just seems so out of character.

Yeah, that was horrible! I forgot about that! I could definitely relate to her as far as being a planner and always putting other people ahead of me and having the carefree sister that always got every guy she ever wanted, but I COULDN'T BELIEVE she would do something like that! :irked:

I didn't think it was completely terrible, but after reading thru all these posts about how great the movie was, I was wondering to myself "Was there something in the movie that I missed?"

Honestly, I liked License To Wed way better than 27 Dresses. Even FH liked it. If you ignore a few scenes where Robin Williams is...well...Robin Williams, then the rest of the movie is really cute.

So has anyone seen that What Happens in Vegas movie with Ashton and Cameron? That's on my must-see list, along with Made of Honor. And 27 Dresses. License to Wed was really cute!

My all time favorite wedding movie is Father or the Bride. I remember sitting there with my dad when I was like 3 watching it. I think I've seen it over 100 times.

Has anyone seen Made of Honor yet?? DH is taking me to the movies for Mothers Day and since its my day, I make all the suggestions that day. I've been wanting to see this movie, but not sure if its worthwhile. Anyone have any reviews??

It cracked me up when I saw the ads for that movie (Made of Honor). It's pretty much 'My Best Friends Wedding', except it's a guy trying to stop his lady friend from getting married instead of Julia Roberts trying to stop her guy friend from getting married. It looks cute though.
