Tomorrow is Administrative Professionals Day; we're celebrating today by going to Cheesecake Factory for lunch, yum yum! Anyone else doing anything for this special day?

Heheh, I'm not an Administrative Professional either, I'm an Accountant, but it's okay with me to get a good lunch for free.

That sucks! My mom works for a private company and they are getting TX BBQ one day and Johnny Rockets another day. They are also having a raffle all this week for $50 gift cards and everyone wins. So not fair!

I work at a bakery so no admins. there! However, we are probably going to be slammed b/c of all the nice bosses picking up goodies for their administrative assistants!

I doubt they will do a thing for me (their invoicing specialist, logistics manager, admin assistant, technical support guru, inside sales person, distributor/sales support person & web master)......... but I am going to go look it up and send my boss an email reminder including definition :) LOL

Hahaha .... I just sent them the following -
PSA - Mark it down on your calendar. I wouldn't want you to forget Administrative Professionals Week :)
Over the years, Administrative Professionals Week has become one of the largest workplace observances. The event is "celebrated" worldwide, bringing together millions of people for community events, social gatherings, and individual corporate activities recognizing support staff with gifts of appreciation. The day is often "celebrated" by giving one's assistant flowers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flower), candy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candy), small gifts, lunch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunch) at a restaurant, and time off.

LOL I suppose that depends on what kind of relationship that you have with the faculty :)
I knew my boss would take it well .... he will ignore the PSA but he'll also find it mildly amusing.

Our lunch took about 2.5 hours!!! It was really good though. I brought back a huge piece of strawberry cheesecake and part of a club sandwich. :D
My old boss really took care of us girls in the office, we used to get flowers and lunch. Now with the new president we get NOTHING. We don't try an aknowledge it in our office, cause the guys will make a stink over it and make fun of us. (There are 4 women in our office....give us a good day!)
