View Full Version : Torn about my hair

As some of you know, I recently (a couple months ago) cut my hair pretty short. Well now I am not sure if I should keep it they way it is or change it or let it grow out again.

DH likes it fairly short, but says he likes it this sort and how I had it before, so he is no help.

I like the sort of spikey/messy look in it now, but I don't like how if I don't fix it I feel like I look like a boy ... and when I do fix it I have to put so much product in it that you can't touch it.

So anyway, here are a few pics, please give me your opinions ...

This is how it looks now -

I wear the front behind my ears pretty much all the time, but this is how it is in the front -

I don't think I like this anymore, but I don't know if I want to cut it all that short.

This was how it was before the latest cut -

I like how it is now .... it's young and "hip" and it suits you. While the bright red may have been fun, I find the new colour suits your skin tone better.

I said grow it out again. I really like how it looks both ways, but like you said shorter hair is so high maintenance that to me it's only worth the trouble for a few months, lol.

While the bright red may have been fun, I find the new colour suits your skin tone better. My sister says the same thing; it is still red, just toned down a bit. I really liked the bright red and it would still be that color if I could find it again; but this is fine too

I had really bad "bed head" now that it is short too :bblol:

Oh heck, mid 30's ain't old. I tuck my hair behind my ears when I am inside (yours looks cute like that) You can always let it down when you are going out.

Re: bed head .... I just get up and if I don't have time to shower, I style my dry hair with a Conair heat brush. Bed head *poof* gone :) Great for touch ups before going out too.

Honestly, you are one of a few women that I actually like short hair on. And I belong to "no scissors" club, as they call it. I think as a pixie it looks lovely.

I think it's really cute short and spikey. I wish I could pull it off! But if you mostly wear it without product and don't like it, then I'd grow it out. The previous bob also looked cute, too! I think I'm sounding like your DH... sorry!

I *LOVE* what you have now....I'm a huge fan of short hair (and will get mine chopped again after the wedding, I'm sure!) and yours looks great short. I even like it tucked behind the ears.

My hair has always been short and I know how hard it is to actually style...so I totally understand wanting to not go through that anymore.

I lurve it short, though...it's very cute!! (And I certainly don't think you're nearing anywhere toward 'too old for short and sassy'!)

I voted "stick with what you have" I think that style looks REALLY good on you!

Thanks everyone; I guess I am gonna stick with the short spikey thing I have now for a while. Everyone I ask seems to like it this way; and DH admitted he liked it shorter too :p

I am still torn if I should cut the front some though or if I should just keep it the way it is and just continue to wear it behind my ears.

I do like it and don't really mind fixing it up, it just bugs me sometimes that it falls flat pretty fast or I have to put LOTS of stuff in it and then it is stiff :gurn:

I like what you have but I voted to cut the front so it can be easier for you, you can do something like this with your colour of course.

or even like this, with the front really short.

This is cute, but I am not sure I like the short bangs.

IAnyway, I looove the colour you have now! Dont change it!!Oh yeah, it will stay some shade of red for a while ;)

I am gonna try to get a trim and probably do something with the front next week, but I think it will be pretty much the same. Everyone I have asked pretty much likes the short messy/spikey thing, so I guess I don't feel too bad about trying to "look my age" anymore ... shouldn't listen to my sister anyway; I am never going to be a "soccer mom" anyway :p *not that it is a bad thing, just not my style ;)

I just wanted to add that I love your hair the way it is now! I think its very chic looking. I just love it!
I will admit it looks much better though tucked behind your ears but that's just my opinion..

Good luck when you do got to the hair dresser! I'm sure it will look awesome when its done!

Good luck when you do got to the hair dresser! I'm sure it will look awesome when its done! Thanks; I will ask her what she thinks I should do and hopefully it will look good. Last time she cut the back too short; this is why it has been 2 months since I went back.

So I saw this pic on MySpace and I am thinking of doing my hair something like this -

http://a234.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/128/l_de93c4432dc3961a8fbdc615418af649.jpg
It is almost like this, but I think I want to keep it a little longer in the back like it is now, but shorten out the front some.

I got my hair cut today and this is what I ended up with -

So it is about time for a trim again (I guess my hair grows pretty fast, it hasn't quit been a month yet) and I am still thinking I need to do something with the sides/front of my hair.

I think I am just gonna bit the bullet and go sort all over. I am thinking something sort of like Sharon Stone's here, maybe a little longer -

Thoughts?

i wish i could go to the place like great clips or whatever they are called here. everytime i went to those when i was younger they messed up my hair so bad. when i got older i went to a salon and they do so much better. i wish i could go to the cheaper places though :(

i pay about 25 dollars to get my hair cut. i guess it is cheaper then some of the other places cuz where i work i ask people where they get their hair cut and how much it cost they pay over 50 dollars!

I think it looks great on you! I wish I had the nerve to cut my hair short! I know if i do it i will regret it. And I've been told from hairdressers that it wont look good on me.

It looks so flattering on you.:D

Thanks; I still go back and forth with liking it and not :p DH loves it of course ;)

It just kind of stinks that I can't just not do anything to it one day if I don't feel like it or something, I will end up looking like a boy. But I have been wearing makeup more and I got a couple head bands :grinhappy:

I guess I will keep it like this at least through the summer, not sure after that.

Thanks everyone for your input; even though I went against the poll majority :worm:
