We met with the photographer today and he had a great idea (not picture related!!) I was talking about how I didn't want to do the kiss every time people ding their glasses. He told me he was at a wedding not that long ago that the bride and groom gave the DJ a list of couples. Everytime someone dinged a glass, the DJ would name a couple and they would kiss instead. I thought that was a cute idea and could be fun too!

That is a really neat idea!
I was wondering what we might do for that at our wedding because i really hate the glass tinking idea. I want to make everyone work for it! :D

Golly! I must really be from Mars guys because I've never heard of the glass tinking thing either! What so every time someone tinks on their glasses the couple is supposed to kiss? Tell me about this, again I am not aware of this.

It was news to me too. We're just not going to do it. If they wanna see us kiss, they need to be there during the part where he says "You may kiss the bride".

That is a great idea the photographer had. It can get tiresome hearing people constantly bang on plates and glasses in order for the bride and groom to kiss. I can imagine it would all become tiresome for the bride and groom, especially during dinner when they are trying to eat. This is very comman at most weddings. Another thing I have heard is that silver bells are given out, and the people at the reception ring the bell in order for the bride and groom to kiss.

I did not want to do the tinging. I want to be able to hold a conversation or eat my meal in some sort of peace. I was excited to hear that idea because I know my family. I could tell them we weren't doing the kiss thing and they would constantly ding the glasses anyway. Turn it around on them a bit!

A couple years ago when Mark's sister got married they had an old trombone that you hand to make a note with in order to get the bride and groom to kiss. It was really amusing to watch, and people didn't do it as much as they would if it was glass clinking.
I had an idea that the guests would have to come up and draw a picture of the bride and groom (kinda like pictionary) on an easle with flip chart paper in order for us to kiss. Mark didn't like the idea so much. I thought it could be fun. And would be a fun little momento for us to keep.

I think I'll just opt to not do that. I don't know why, but I am not a very affectionate person. In private I am, but I'm not a hand holder or a hugger or anything like that. If I feel bad I don't want anyone patting my back or hugging me. I really would rather not be touched. Really the only person that touches me at all is probably Justin and sometimes my mother. Anyways I think it could be a cute idea for someone else. It's just not for me.

Oh Brian and I are - BIG TIME! We arent like those couples that you want to tell to get a room, but we do hold hands in public, and he will not hesitate to lean over and kiss me for no apparent reason. We are having the "kissing bells" but Im sure the bells will have a hard time keeping up with US!!

I don't know why I'm like that. I even get creeped out when people want to hold hands to pray. My family does not do that, but Justin's family does and I hate it so much! But I do think the bell idea is really cute.
