I've been following this forum for about a month now, but just decided to register today! I was engaged March 14 and my wedding date is July 24, 2009.

I'm planning on doing a lot of things myself, and have gotten a lot of great ideas from you girls on here. I'm stuck on my place cards though.

I really want to have the place card that looks like a chair but also doubles as a favor. I tried to post a link to give you an idea, but I can't do that until I've been a member for awhile. A simple google search should give you lots of ideas!

I really want to do these myself and not have to spend so much money on them. I was thinking about using just a plain white box as the base, but I can't come up with any good ideas about how to make the back of the chair. Any ideas?

What about checking out the fancy border punches at JoAnns or Michaels.

I wonder if the right punch shape, used on either side of a square of paper, would work to acheive the effect?

That is a good idea.. I'll have to check to see if I can find a punch with a design that will work... Thanks! :bblol:

Somebody was making chairs with wine corks... I'll see if I can find the thread... sorry, it was Robin (HisMuse) with champagne corks!

Robin had an update today, so it's on the front page...

Alright, reading your post COMPLETELY, I see you want to make them with white boxes... duh! Maybe paint popsicle sticks white? I really have no idea how to help you... I think it's bedtime! :)
