So I have finally convinced FH about flying. Well I have been researching into two honeymoon destinations but I am so unable to decided... Las Vegas or Hawaii.... can anyone help me pick or decide on which way to go???? :purplex:

I look at Vegas as the flight/hotels in a package are cheaper but will be paying out for more in dinner gambling and activities... but Hawaii the flight/hotel package is more but think the food will be average in price and there are more things that would be less money or cheaper as in site seeing and walks on beach and what not... any advice???

Hawaii. Vegas isn't worth it, imo.

Why is Vegas not worth it, if I may ask????

In my experience it is a whoooole lot of money to do anything, and to me it's kind of a sad place with sad people. I feel like in Hawaii you would be able to do more for your money, whereas in Vegas to gamble, see a show, do anything, it's going to be incredibly costly. (Not that Hawaii is cheap, but you don't have to pay to go swimming for example, you know?) But after I made my first post I was thinking... it really depends on the kind of couple you are. We considered Hawaii and St. John but decided on Disney World because it's just more our thing. Are you guys big on going out, party scene, busy busy busy, or are you more laid back, relaxed? Anyway, like I said, my opinion would be go for Hawaii, but I don't know you guys and your likes and I'm only speaking based on my own. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time whatever you decide!

Actually, Hawaii is quite pricey. A gallon of Milk in a grocery store was $4.50 last December.

Not to say I don't love it there, but it can be expensive.

I suppose it's all relative to what you want to do. FH and I spent waaaaaaay less in Vegas, but we didn't gamble. Instead we went to the Valley of Fire, the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. In Hawaii, we went scuba diving and other expensive touristy things (and his Dad lives there so we didn't even have to pay for our hotel or a lot of our food).

I choose Hawaii since I've already been to Vegas and I've been to a lot of places. I been all over florida, New york, California, Vegas.

Vegas was pretty cool but expensive to go anywhere and there are always lines everywhere. For a 3-4 day vacation its cool but after the 4th day you just about saw everything that was worth seeing. Everywhere you go in Vegas you got to tip everyone. They have slot machines in the airport. If I had the chance to go again I wouldnt but its something you have to experience at least once.

I think Hawaii will be more of a relaxing trip to hang out at the beach and do water activities. :flower:

Hawaii is WAY more the Vegas for EVERYTHING!!!!!

You can go a stay in a cheaper place and eat at Taco Bell, etc. But overall, Hawaii is more the Vegas, I have family in both places.

I agree with Carrie, what do you like to do? Lay on the beach, go to the pool CHILL, or lay by the pool and go to clubs etc. Although, you can also do a lot outside in Vegas.

When would you be going?

I agree completely. Hawaii is EXTREMELY pricey, even for the most basic of items.

Pick your destination based on what activities you want to do... do you want to lounge on the beach, do you want to go horseback riding, do you want to shop, or snorkel? Decide what your ideal honeymoon would be, set a budget, and then do what you want, within those confines. :D

The first thought that I had goes along with what several girls have already said - Hawaii is expensive for every little thing, especially food. I would tend to think that the trip prices for each would kinda even out. However, I had a friend who did Vegas for their honeymoon a few months ago and spent less than $2,000 for their 4 day trip. Admittedly, they don't care for fine dining or gambling. They did go to some exhibits, cirque de soleil, etc. They can't wait to go back again someday and were surprised at how romantic it was. Their room was upgraded to a suite overlooking Vegas so I'm sure that had something to do with it!

Personally, I would prefer Hawaii because I love the tropical atmosphere and I would rather relax by the beach and explore nature than be in a big city. When you close your eyes and dream about your honeymoon, what do you see?? You should have a honeymoon as close to your dream honeymoon as possible! :D

We are doing Disney, Vegas and the mall of America. We are staying in Vegas for 4 days and we have the room and flights for bioth of us for alittle less than $600 total for the Vegas part. And that is with a strip view mini suite. It is just what we like to do, fun things. I have an uncle that lives in Hawaii and it can be quite pricy to go there and just go to the convience store with cereal around $6 a box. All up to what you like.

I have been to Vegas, and it's nice. But I wouldn't go there for a honeymoon. In my opinion, Vegas would be better as a trip with firiends. If you can afford it, you should go to Hawaii. It's more expensive, but it looks gorgeous. I've never been, but I want to go there one day.

Man you girls are making it hard to decide.... well personally FH and I are big outdoor freaks, we like to camp, fish, walk outside, walk along beach, campfire that sorta thing.... I know we aren't that big into bar scene, gambling, glitz nor glamour....

I just know I want to go somewhere for our honeymoon and have it be memorable. I really would love hawaii for the outdoor thing but the price yea I see you what you ladies mean now.... I like taking pictures and would love to snorkel and horseback ride... ugh.... does anyone else have any suggestions on a honeymoon location????

Maybe look into one of the all inclusive resorts in Mexico. Maybe somewhere like Cancun?

I'm sorry I didn't mean to downplay going to Hawaii, I just didn't want you to get a sticker shock when you get there because you hadn't planned on it. I was just suggesting you make sure to really budget for it. Hawaii is great! It's beautiful there and there are lots of places to go hiking and stuff like that.

For other beachy places, like Kfancii said, there is Mexico.

The florida keys are really neat, there are some public parks and places to go snorkeling.

There's also some places in the carribean.

We are off to Vegas baby!!! I think there is so much stuff to do and see. Hawaii sounds amazing but we are not so much the relaxing type and we like to get out and explore....not to mention not so much into the long airplane ride. It definitely depends on the couple and what they are into...
