I am stressing out bigtime trying to find a fovor. I am not sure wether I have to do just candy, or candy and a favor. Is the candy considered a favor or do I need to give something more useful. Most people I know do not even take the favors. I want something unique, Cant decide...want to elope!!:bbconfused:

Taht sounds like a good idea. I was thining about mini plastic wine glasses filled with candy, then wrapped in Tulle and ribbon. Then we were going to just make a donation to a charity in our grandparents name instead of favors. Maybe that is too much.

You can have 'just' candy as a favor, it doesn't have to be anything fancy. I like the idea you mentioned with the candy filled mini wine glasses.

Here are some other favor ideas ...

* Wedding Favors: If you are having a themed wedding, give favors that reflect your theme. Like with a Christmas theme wedding, you might give Christmas ornaments as favors. Have your florist design your centerpieces like miniature trees and hang the ornaments on the centerpiece trees. Or as an alternative to the miniature tree centerpieces, just decorate one table with a tree-like arrangement to hang all your ornament favors on for your guests to take one.

Candy favors are a popular choice as well. Here are a couple of our favorite DIY ideas ... Use regular Hershey's Hugs and Kisses (buy in bulk at your local Sams, Costco, or BJ's) wrapped in tulle and tied with ribbon with a little tag that reads "Thanks for sharing our special day ... Hugs and Kisses, (bride & groom's name)" *A cute variation of this is to use a plastic spoon and put in 3 or 4 Kisses then wrap it in tulle and ribbon with a tag that reads "We thank you for coming with this spoonful of kisses, to bless our beginning as Mr & Mrs" *You can use ribbon with your name and wedding date printed on it for an added personalized touch.

Here is a unique idea. How about a wedding favor that is good for the environment too? Consider giving tree seedlings in little decorated tubes to your guests to plant. Maybe have a little poem along with it too "Take this home and plant with love and care; watch it grow and with it our love you'll share" Another variation of this would be to give flower seeds or bulbs.

Best of luck, Congrats and Welcome to the board by the way :D

I think for my wedding, since it is in the winter, I am having hot cocoa packets with our names on them.

We have been thinking about that idea as well. Donating to the Cancer Society. We are going to do a CD my FH is a musician so he is going to record a couple of his songs and i am going to create the artwork for the CD cover. We really feel like it's a good expression of ourselves.
I do like the idea of a cup of candies. Alot of people appreciate a couple candies or mints after dinner.

I'm not doing wedding favors. I figure with all the other wedding cost why spend more money on something thats not necessary. I know it's a guesture to say "Thanks for coming" but I also feel that it should be a privilege to be invited and a gift is not needed. If they wish to keep something from the day then they can keep the invitations and the ceremony sheets I have made up.

I really like idea of Hot Cocoa for a Winter wedding. My wedding is in August..of course one of the hottest months we have here in NY!

I also really like the idea of giving bulbs or seeds for the guest to plant. They will have something that will last a lifetime, if the plant it!

I will also have some of this little votives that just have opal ribbon on them on the tables with the centerpieces and they can take those home as well.
