Ok... So I got my columns in yesterday and I put one together and now I am trying to decorate it. I am not too happy with it but I know I will get it right. The pictures are not good.. the coloring is off.

I think it looks nice, I kinda see the pillar with a darker pink tulle and maybe some greenery wrapped around it, I think that might add s'more depth. Give it a try :D

Ok.. So I am a little concerned that maybe you ladies don't like the columns since I have only had one reply. Please give me you're opinions.

Here is a better picture... one that shows the right lighting etc..

I like the column very much. Have you thought about putting some greenery on top or a big arrangement & then maybe wrap it with a tulle color that has more pop or layer a few different colors...*I'm all about dramatic presentation*

Ohh and to give a better idea ... this is how they will be set up. I have two 8 ft columns and tw 4 ft columns.

I actually like your decorations on the columns better than the decorations on your inspiration picture. I think they look pretty just as you have them done in the picture you posted.

They look nice but I think you need a big arrangement on top and more greenery.

i love them! when i first saw you were doing columns i was kinda :purplex: but now that i see them, wow! i like yours a lot better, i think i agree with one of the other ladies and adding a little more darker color to give depth i guess. but i like how the flowers are over to the side, thats my favorite part!

I also agree with everyone. I think they would look good with some greenery and an arrangment on the top.

I love these...but maybe you can wrap a darker shade of pink with it too...just cause it is light and almost blends in with the white. But other than that I love them :)

OOHHHH LLLLAAAA LLLAAA I really love the arrangement now that I know you are having four columns. Think it will be fantastic...please share their placement??? Are they at the ceremony or the reception site, details, darling, details!!! Now, I'm really intrigued! :sweatdrop:

LOL... Well I plan to set them up like in the picture on page one. We will be using it during the ceremony. I am getting married in a hall and we are having the ceremony and reception in the same room. There are round tables and banquet chairs that will be covered with white satin and the chairs will also have a pink sash.

So these columns will be visable the whole night. I was really wanting to find something nice since the hall is plain. I needed a focus point. This I think will do it... (two of them are 8ft tall)

I will definitely post pictures of the wedding in 10 more days!!! : )

I actually really like them! Very romantic! Just add some fake greenery and it will be perfect! You are doing such a great job!

i like your better than the inspiration photo as well (helps i'm a pink addict)

how 'bout seeing what it looks like if you double up the tulle? (it is tulle, right? i'm new at this) the inspiration photo seems to have it a bit thicker and slightly loser.

I agree with the other ladies! Your columns are really beautiful. Indeed nicer than your inspiration picture. Add in the greenery to enhance. All the best.

The columns look fantastic as you have them but I agree also with a few of the other posters that more greenery and florals will punch it up.

I agree with everything that everyone else has said. Yours turned out way better then your inspiration pictures. Maybe a darker tule, greenery wrapped in the tulle, maybe put greenery on top of column, or put one of your centerpieces ontop of it.....

You are getting so close!

Thanks for all the input guys. I am hard headed though... I think I am going to keep it light pink...that is something that I wanted...plus I am going to have a pink backdrop so I think it will be too much. I do really like the idea of adding greenery in the tulle...I think I will try that!!!

I purchased the columns from Shindigz.com... It is 120.00 with shipping for 2 8ft columns and 2 4ft columns. You will make the money right back though. I posted mine for sale on craigslist for 100.00 and I already have five people wanting to buy them.

Now that I know what your doing with them I LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM-- don't fuss with them anymore. They are a backdrop that people are not going to inspect!! We women are so hard on ourselves!! They are wonderful and will be very dramatic at your venue!

Oh, wow...knowing that they are against a pink background makes a huge difference...that is a great price on the columns though....good idea...

ohhhhhhhh.... yah don't go with a darker pink if it is on a pink background... that might be too much. It is hard to say thtough without seeing it! You have great taste in everything that you have done so if you like the light pink stick with it!

Cant wait to see pictures!!!!!!!!!!
