It's almost midnight, Joe and Maddie are asleep. I thought what better time than right now to share our story. Sorry in advance, this will be long.
I met Joe at work. We both work in a large store (similar to Super Target/ SuperWalmart/ Fred Meyers) I was the manager of the baby center and he was a cashier. At the time I only had female employee's in my department and they kept refering to this guy "Hot Joe" So I had to check it out. He sure was "Hot Joe"! So I teased my girls about him all the time but never gave it too much thought because I was engaged and I had a hard and fast rule aout dating in the work place. (Once bitten, twice shy......) So a few months later I find my self with alot of extra hours to schedule due to a major reset and none of my girls wanted more hours. Well, Joe and this other little cutie from that area asked if they could get some hours in my area. I was like OK, why not have a little eye candy to pass the day. So there I was explaining what needed to be done and the other guys starts complaining of a hang-over and he doesn't think he can stay. I'm just not a fan of winers so I sent him home. Bonus for me I have to stay and help "Hot Joe"
"Hot Joe and I are working away in the baby furniture aisle making small talk ad he tells me he has this GIRLFRIEND! I totally faked a reason to leave the area because for some crazy reason I was devistated. Here I was engaged (albiet to a comple jerk) and I am almost in tears because he has a girlfriend.
Thankfully, that made me reevaluate my relationship with the former fiance and it ended about two weeks later. But by then I have this secret (I was the only one who thought it as secret) crush on Joe.
Fast forward about two months Joe and I have been taking breaks together, casually, of course. LOL How is it that everyone knows your secret crush before you tell them?! Anyway, one day on break Joe tells me he proposed to his girlfriend. I was crushed!! I pretended to be happy ad congratulated him. And I assumed that was the end of it for me. Well, to make this long story a little less long, My "Hot Joe" ended it whith his girlfriend, got promted (we can't date subordinates) and here we are in our "happily ever after"!
