OK I understand people dont always understand about bank policies and such. I have been yelled at and bitched to about many different things at many different times that I have no control over. ( I tell ya the tellers get paid the least and take the greif for everyting . )

Today I had had it. I had a customer knockign on my drive -up window to tell me the ATM kept his card "again". The glass is think and I can't talk or hear through it very well, especialy when a car or truck is running. I pointed to the drive-up tube so I could talk to him through the speaker. He said I want my card back. I try talking to him to figure out why the ATM kept his card. I asked if it was a new card and he had to put his pin on it. He siad I did I just forogt it. I told him he would have to sign a paper to get his card back. We have to log that it was taken in and returned. He was agravated and the second he walked into the lobby he was an :censored: to me. He started with how bad the customer service was here and how rediculous (sp?) this bank was. He was being so rude that I told him he didn't need to talk to me that way. He just Just give me my card back. All the time getting more and more rude and mean. I again told him he didn't need to talk to me that way and if he had a problem with the bank he could talk with the manager. AGain he was yelling at me to just giv ehim his card back. I aske dfor his ID and he threw it at me. I told him I needed his signature and at this time was so ticked that I tossed the pen his way. He made a scribble and threw the pen at me. He did not "sign" his name and not in the right place. I was very polite and said sir I need you to sign your name. " That is my signature look at the back of my card", I said I am looking at your license and I need you to sign that paper. Again he scribbled something and threw the pen at me again. By this time I had had enough. I tossed his license and ATM card back to him and he had the nerve to say to the customer service standing there , did you see what she did, the customer service in this place sucks. That CSR had had enough and tol dhim that was enough as he was still yelling as he walked out of the bank.

Now I was not hurt or upset I was P***ED. And when I get mad I cry. I was swearing I was so mad. I am glad there were no other customers int he labby at the time. We have workers in the bank remodleing the upstairs and one of them ( that we know very well, we cash his paychecks every week before this job even started ) said you should have said something to me I would come down. The CSR told him we dont need out construction workers beating up our customers.

I went to the restroom to calm down. As I came back the manager was talking to the others about what happened and asked if I was ok. I still was not. I went in her office to talk to her and she informed me that she will take care of this. She did call and left a message with the guys wife and she knows that he knows what he did and he wont return her call or exept her call. But my boss has said that she has no problem with tellign him to take his accounts out of this bank.

I am sorry, yes I have to be polite and listen the customers and such but this went way beyond what I have to take on the job. In the 3 years I have been there I have NEVER had some one make me feel this way. ( well not since my ex lol ). I can tell you right now I WILL NOT wait on this guy again. If he ever has the guts to walk in that bank again he better hope it is not for a very long time. It will be some time before I am over this. If he had been there another second I would have let him have it. I think I did very well with the situation. But I was ready to explode and tell him right where to go. Rather or not it cost me my job. But my boss was on my side.

OK sorry for the long vamp but I tell ya it was a day from Hell with this guy. And this was about 10 am. I had to work untill 4. He is not the first this week. I had another cusotmer earlier this week , one I can't stand anyway, putting down my boss becasue she smokes. He asked if I smoked ( none of his business ) I said yes. He started calling me disguting. More then once. I spoke to my boss for that one too and she hates him too and has no problem with telling him wear to go. She told me ( we know he will be back ) if he starts in again just to tell him I he can keep his anticts to himslef. If he keeps up then tell him he can take it up with her. And she said even after that if he still going on just to lock my drawer and walk away and go get her.

I am glad I have a boss who will take her employees side. I know there are some who wouldn't.

Again sorry but had to get it all out. It is still bugging me a little. The good thing was Nicholas showed up about 20 mins later with a Mountain Dew for me and to say hi on his way to work. He asked for a kiss so he could go and I told him I needed a hug too. So he wiat till I could get out from behind the line to see him. He is so sweet.

Awww  I'm sorry you had such a crummy day Gwen.
I really hate it when people are rude to the people who are helping them. It's not your fault that somthing went wrong with a transaction, or the customer had to wait a long time, or you didn't have what they were looking for. I do my best to be super cheery when to a cashier or teller when i've seen the customer be rude to them before.
I worked at a supermarket at a cashier when i was yonger and i had an old man make me cry because he wa so mean about the way he wanted his change back. He demanded that i give him no coin! I had to exuse myself when the manager came over the help. When i came back the lady who was in line behinde him appologized that he was so rude. Made me feel better, but i have never forgotten it.

People think they have to be rude to people who work in customer service fields, especially bank tellers or people who work in retail. I worked at Dillard's for 2 years and I had one man make me cry. I was working on his watch that he didn't even buy from there. We were really not supposed to work on something without a receipt and I was doing him a favor. When I couldn't fix it he got really mad and started yelling at me and getting in my face. I know how you feel. A lot of people have no respect for other people. Sorry about your day, but thank goodness it is the weekend! :bblol: (Unless you work in one of those 7 day a week banks) I hope you don't!

I Just wanted to tell you about my experience and tell you that I know how you feel!! When I was about 17 or 18, I worked at a fast food resturaunt!! One night this family came through drive thro right as we were about to close! So I could have ignored them but no, I served them!! Ten minutes later there the husband is knocking on my window AFTER we had closed, telling me his "poutine" is cold! I asked him what he would like me to do (politely of course) because my till was down and the gravy was thrown away! He yelled at me "I just want my money back RIGHT NOW!!" So I found my manager told her what was going on...got the two dollars back that he wanted and gave it to him. I told him sorry and have a good night!! Two days later, he called my place of work and lodged a complaint against me saying that I had given him and his family the middle finger as they drove away!! Now, why in the world would I do that?? I didn't care that I had to give him his money back!! Even though he was rude to me, I wasn't rude to him!! Anyhow, he told my manager that he was coming in and that he wanted a formal verbal apology from me!! I told them no way, I didn't do anything but my manager just said come out and apologize and then you are done. So,like a dumb kid, I did it, only to meet him calling me worthless and that if I worked for him he'd fire me and blah blah blah!! I just stood there and said "Sir, I did not give you the finger!! why in the hell would I do that????" Anyhow, my lazy manager stood there and let him tell me all this and more. Eventually I got mad and walked away in tears!! I was soooo mad and upset I nearly walked off the job!! Its funny because if I was such a "BAD" employee like he said, How come they promoted me to supervisor in training like a few months after that incident??? No one in the whole store believed this guys story!! And to top it off, he came back through drive throu and as he was driving away there was a sticker on the back of his SUV that said "next time you wave, use all your fingers!!" (i didn't serve him that time. My friend did!) Thank God, I never had to deal with him again!!!!! I tell you if I did, I would really have given him the finger, espicially after he said what he said to me!! My dad told me that if he ever came back to get his name, we would take him to court!! He never did, what a shame, I would have loved to have seen that jerk squirm!!

Anyhow, I don't know where this world is going, but I hope that you never have to deal with those people again!! (like I said in my PPs!!) take care!! :)

I also know where you guys are coming from with having people yell at you for things out of your control. At least I only have to deal with it over the phone. One of our procedures when we get a 911 hang up call is to call the number back until you either get ahold of someone to talk to or until you can verify the address through the phone company and send an officer. You go and call people back to make sure something isn't wrong and they flip out, "I never called you!" Ok, maybe by accident you hit and extra number dialing, because we wouldn't be a call showing YOUR number if you didn't. I have had people tell me they were goign to file charges against me because I am harrassing them by continuing to call them back until they can answer my questions so I can verify there is nother wrong there. And wow, let me say, I've never realized how rude people can be to a person who is trying to help in an emergancy. I know they are upset because a loved one is injuried or some other major event, but I am not the cause of it!! I am here to send you help. I really am not trying to make your life worse. O well, there are great things about the job, but the down sides tend to stand out more somedays. Sorry you had such a bad day at the bank. I'm glad your manager was willing to stick up for you and help you out.
