Chris said today that there was a shooting threat for our college today! Someone had written a letter saying that they were gonna shoot up the college today, and had dropped the letter in an off campus apartment drop box. Thankfully it didn't happen! I don't know what people's problem is these days! That is the last thing I would have thought would happen here, but obviously it can happen anywhere, even in a small town in the midwest.

One of the guys who works with our campus security said that if they shut down UH every time there was a threat that we'd never be open. Why do people have to be so rediculous??
I heard that on the news today. This world is nuts.

Yeah! UH is like the 20th (or something like that) largest university in the US and it's in a big city so I'm not surprised. Just think if everytime somebody didn't want to take an exam and called in a "threat"...we would never have school! I guess you just have to take things as they come and hopefully they can sniff out the serious ones.

Scary! And the worst part is.. How is a student suppose to defend themselves.. Poke them with a pencil? =/ I'm glad you guys are okay!

Lol. A pencil, that's funny. Or shoot them with staples out of a mechanical pencil...we used to do that to people in Jr. High.

Hehe. My special ed teacher once threw a desk at a kid.. he SO deserved it though.. So no one told on her.
Seriously though. They should have armed personal, or get rid of the gun law.. People wouldn't be so gung ho about trying to shot everyone up.. If they could all pound him with a bunch of bullets before he could get the job done. :D

You are totally right about gun laws. Gun control only gives a governmental guarentee to the criminals that their victims are not as capable of defending themselves.
Look at VT. The masacre could have been stopped after the 1st shot if someone had a conceiled carry.
