My invites were made from your basic "Gartner Studio" double heart collection. I looked at them, and while I loved the classic look and feel of it, I felt like I needed something more....
I kept the invite card as is, but added on top of it is a metallic silver (matching the silver tone of the double heart printed on the basic card) card stock piece. On top of the card stock is a piece of vellum. That is where my actual invite is printed. The vellum set on top of the silver cardstock. Two hole punches are made in the top middle, ribbon run through tied, and a double heart charm added (found in Michael's and JoAnn Fabrics).
The average time to make this invite (after I got the hang of it) is about 5 minutes. This includes all the measuring, cutting, taping, tying. Please let me know what you think of it.
Sorry about the bad quality pictures.. as soon as I can find my camera battery charger I will use it... in the meantime it's just my cellphone pictures for now!

Then I decided.. hey... maybe I can actually do this? I've seen all these things in magazines and even on this forum making a fuss about escort cards. I myself don't have the budget or the ability to sit down and make cool chairs (as much as I want to) or pots of flowers for an escort. What I'm doing is taking extra votive candles (pics of those to come) and assigning them table numbers. In front of the candles will be a simple folded card with a silver border (keeping the theme) and their names.

The last DIY that I have done is my bubbles for the ceremony/reception. They are very difficult to read but the saying says "Blow bubbles of good wishes for the new Mr. and Mrs.!" They are printed on clear mailing labels and wrapped around. On top is a simple bow made of white sheer ribbon.

Sorry about the mess. My fiance is in the Air Force and he left his jacket and things on the floor! Look what I have to look forward too right?! Well I'm sure I'll be asking you guys for your opinions and ideas in the future.
Good luck to all with all your DIYs!
