Anyone doing anything fun or exciting this weekend for Easter?

Mack is taking me to his family Easter celebration for the first time since we started dating. I have spent lots of time with his family before, just never at Easter. This is the first time that I will see them since we are officially engaged though and it will be the first time anyone in his family will see my ring. I'm excited but a little nervous too!

Well DH will be out of town until Sunday night, so I don't think we are doing anything exciting. If he was at home we would probably had invited his Dad over for dinner or something.

When DH's mom was alive she would always make dinner and we'd go over there. Since she has been gone I have made dinner at our place. The last couple of years since FIL got a new GF/FW we have not much done anything.

I may go over to my parents place and bring my niece a little something. We never really do anything special with my family for Easter, but I still think of the day as meaningful to me and my faith.

DH's parents and his brother (& family) are coming into town for the weekend. His parents are coming by train from the east and his brother and family are coming from the west via car. They are staying at the "pool hotel" (his nephew's name for it) because we have NO room! LOL

We have invited a few of her oldest and dearest friends out to dinner on Sunday night to help celebrate FIL & MIL's 50th wedding anniversary. Guess who is busy making a last minute signature platter? LOL

It's not for Easter, but Saturday is MY day....I'm getting a one-hour hot stone massage and then going to get my nails done. It's pamper-cindy-day! :)

For Easter, we're probably going over to FMIL's house for dinner. Haven't heard anything yet, though.

But I'm getting a massage...that's the important thing. LOL

This past sunday was "Easter" dinner at his parents house--it was their first time seeing me since we got engaged. I had been dreading it but I actually really enjoyed myself.

The actual day will be spent with my dad driving me back down to my university. Partay!

No plans for Easter. Friday, we're taking the pups to Jekyll Island since it's the closest dog-friendly beach. (Hopefully, I'll come back with pics of the dogs "surfing." :bblol:)

Saturday, we're going to get FH's ring inspected then meeting up with one of my MOH.

Ya know, you got me thinking, I haven't been pampered since the day before my wedding, which was last August, so I think I'll get a pedicure on Friday when I go shopping. :) I'd love a massage, but can't afford it. Have fun on Saturday!

I'm going shopping on Friday (I have the day off, wuhoooooo!), Saturday and Sunday, I'm not sure.

We already did the Easter celebration with Chad's family Sunday. It was just his immediate family and we had a nice lunch. His mom gave us all Easter cards w/ AMC movie gift cards. His mom is so cute...she thoroughly decorates the house and yard for every holiday/season. She has large wooden painted Easter eggs w/ her kids names on them that she puts out in the yard year after year. Well, when we pulled up to the house Sunday I noticed that there was a new egg. She had gotten a pink egg with my name on it. I almost started crying; it was just so special! I wish that I would have had my camera!

We'll probably head out to Needville to spend time with my family this weekend. I'm sure that my aunt's grandkids will be coming over for an Easter egg hunt so that will be fun. At some point this w/e we also plan to go to the Houston rodeo & carnival w/ my dad & some other family, volunteer at a work day at the community farm, and go to a nice dinner at a steakhouse.

Busy w/e!

Scott mentioned to possibly going to Calico, CA. That would be fun. If we're not doing that, then it's the usual Saturday at the range and maybe going finishing with a friend on Sunday.

We're doing our taxes (fun FUN) on Saturday. Going to church and lunch with my parents on Easter morning, then something different for Easter dinner...my parents are going over to Jamie's parents' with us that night. Sounds sweet, but it's nothing but stress for me when they get together. Everyone is overly sensitive and takes everything EVERYONE says the wrong way and Jamie and I'll be hearing about it for months.

What are your plans for Easter? Are you having dinner at your house? Share some Easter dinner recipes!

We will go to church, probably mine, then I'm thinking that we're going to Chris' grandparents' house for lunch. We usually have ham, mashed pototoes and gravy, salads, and rolls. I will probably make my famous devilled eggs...yum...

We don't really have any special food just for Easter. Usually a ham or turkey, mac n cheese or mash potatoes, green beans and deviled eggs. Pretty much the same as Thanksgiving or Christmas ;)

But it has been a couple of years since we had a nice Easter dinner; my family hasn't done much for the holiday since we were kids and since DH's father got a new GF/FW we haven't done much with them either.

Last year I think we got a small ham at the store. This year DH is working, so I doubt we will do anything special.

What does DH stands for?

Anyways on Friday, I am going to a gay club with my friend, then I'm sleeping over her house, then on Saturday, we are going to catch breakfast at a restaurant and then catch a movie early and then we are going to the spa to get a facial and swedish massage. Then in the evening, for like 3 hours, I have to go to mass with my fiance and his family. Then on Easter, I will go out to eat with my fiance and his family and in the evening, I will organize an Easter egg hunt for my nephew - or maybe in the morning. >.<

I am going to be working 12hr shifts friday and saturday...oh how much fun!! My work has sort of 3 different schedules. salary people get friday off, 6 day rotation gets saturday off, and 7 day rotation (me) get sunday off. I think this is totally stupid!!! at least no office people today and tomorrow. Sunday me and FH are going to have dinner at home just the two of us watching the television and having homemade meatloaf dinner and spice cake. Happy Easter to all of you and eggs to everyone!!

^ Yuck. 12-hour shifts stink...period. :(

Today FH and I are going to tour a facility that will (hopefully) become our reception venue. Sunday my parents are bringing Easter dinner over to a friend who has cancer, so FH and I will go down for a visit on Saturday and probably take my folks out for dinner. Sunday there's Easter mass, then dinner with the FILs...and I just remembered that I'm supposed to make a pie for dessert.

Hope the FILs like pear tarts...

Tonight I have to go shopping for Easter. We didn't have the time or money this past week and it has snuck up on us this year. So the kids are going to their Nanas and the baby will go with us shopping.

Sat. I have to work utnil noon then I have to get some laundry done big time. We have the kids this weekend so they can help. In the evening we have freinds comingover and we will eaither watch shows or a movie or play a game but I am sure there will be a drink or 2 invlovled. After the kids are asleep our friends will help us put their baskets together and hide the eggs.

sunday morning we have the egg hunt and the kdis open up their baskets. The baby's first East so this should be fun. Later on in the morning the kids are going to church with our freinds from Sat. night. When they get home we will have Easter dinner and then hang out the rest of the day.

Oh Gosh this weekend is going to be busy!

Tonight when we get home from work we have to change and get right back on the road to drive to the other side of Sacramento to meet with our DJ :whoohoo: then we have to pick Sierra up from her grandma's. When we get home I have to cook pasta and dessert for the family dinner we have tomorrow. Tomorrow morning I have to finish cooking the food, cut Matt's hair (which can take forever if I mess it up enough), and then we go to the florist to sign our contract, leave straight from the florist to the family dinner. After the family dinner - we might be staying at Matt's mom's tomorrow night if we're tired enough. Then Sunday Matt wants to take Sierra to church. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. Might go with them, or work on wedding stuff.

*takes a deep breath* LOL
