Mom and I found a beautiful dress online in early January. She e-mailed the site's reps and they told her that it would take 8-10 weeks for the dress to be made and to order whenever we were ready to do so.

Yesterday Joe and I get back to my place after the bridal showcase to a frantic message from my mom "You MUST come down and get measured tonight. You MUST order your dress tomorrow." Apparently, they discontinued the dress. She was trying to pull it up online on Saturday and couldn't find it and sent them an e-mail.

It's just my luck and completely bizarre. I just sent the link to a friend on Friday afternoon....she saw it and said that she loved it. Saturday morning, it was no where to be found.

So, I got measured last night (and then proceeded to stuff my face with pizza) and hopefully the rep will still have a dress in my size, or close to it.

I can, however, feel an argument brewing between mom and I if this dress doesn't work out. She's hellbent on ordering one from this website and sent me three more pics. I don't like them and she doesn't like anything I show her. I know that when I tell her I want to go to a store and look again, she's going to make a big fuss. We've already had one "discussion" over the dress.

Ladies, keep your fingers crossed that this dress is available.

Good luck on that one. Why does you mom want to use this site so badly? I personally bought mine at the dress store. I like it better when you can actually see the dress because sometimes the pictures on-line can be deceiving or the other way around. The dress I bought looks very plain on-line, but in person it was gorgeous. The picture on-line is a horrible representation of it.

Hi Stacey,
Like Kacie_Bride, good luck with this one. Again, why is your mom so "hellbent" on ordering from a site? Just remeber that this is your wedding and the dress you choose is "your dress". I am sure that all opinions are appreciated, however I would hate to see you get something you really don't like, and regret it later. Just make sure you do what makes you happy! If you need anything else, let us know.

I would be a little concerned ordering from a site as well! It would worry me that they might not be as reputable as they seem and you could lose your money! If it were me, I'd order from a store!! Oh and don't let your mom push you into a dress, its your day and you should order the one you want and order it how you want!! Best wishes!!

I think it's just stress - we both like the gowns on the site and their prices are great. I'm stressed, she's stresed. The dress that I'll get will be the one that I love.

Good luck. I know how you feel. although I was not all set with a certain dress. The one I found that I fell in love with was no longer available when I had the money to oder it. I had to find another. I hope you get the dress you want.

Stacey,

Who is the designer of the dress? What style was it? I wonder what type of dress it is. Go online and find designers who can make you a dress similar to the style or try to find something online. Like go to ask jeeves.com then type wedding designers or gowns. They will ask you the designers name and you can but a discontinued dress online. Don't let them fool you. Because that is what I was told about my designer dress. Oh we do not sell that anymore. Well I just did a lot of research and I went to one last store and they had only one left at bridesmart. But it is harder but like I said do your research drive all over town if you have to. Because their will be one left at anystore or even a few more. And you can even go online and find a discontinued dress to buy.
