Cooking is Dangerous!

My FH is the cook in our relationship...but I've always been interested in learning. So a week or two ago he supervised me and taught me how to make chili. I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to make it again yesterday. This time, he left me to my own devices - probably thought it'd give me some confidence. But apparently I need to be watched like a child...cause the knife slipped when I was cutting the green pepper and I sliced the webby skin between my thumb and forefinger :( We had to rush to the Urgent Care and get three stitches put in :( It hurts like **** and now I'm scared to ever cook again :(

Ooooh I just cringed! I'm so sorry hun.

Accidents happen! My husband, who is a professional chef, still hurts himself now and then. It's just like walking...I've broken my toe just walking along the sidewalk before, but I keep on walking. :happy: You can do it! I know it will be scary and you will be super paranoid at first, but I'm sure that your FH has faith in you!

Oh man that stinks! Good thing it was in a fleshy/skin area and not on the bone though! Glad you're okay!

Thanks for the support you guys!! It still hurts like crazy. My entire thumb is swollen and uber-sensitive to touch. Hopefully when I take the bandage off tonight it'll start to calm down. None of the pain killers I've tried have done much of anything :(

At least I can be thankful that this didn't happen right before the wedding! lol :bblol:
